Hello guys, it's another great day and Happy New Month to everyone!
This is my entry for yesterday's prompt, Day 31 of 'The Menagerie' by . I just had a bit of time to work on this, and it evolved into a little scene that perfectly captured the prompt's "Cozy final send-off" vibe.
Here's my piece:
My Take: The Will to Fly
The prompt for Day 31 was a "Quail" mailing off an envelope for a "cozy final send-off," complete with a knit sweater and a bag.
For me, this scene came to life with the thought: "Birds that aren't caged always have the will to fly." My character, who seems to have been in 'The Menagerie' (perhaps a metaphorical cage), is finally making their departure. They're mailing off a final note, saying "BYE GUYS" and "I can't stay here forever," ready to explore the world beyond. It's about freedom and moving on to new adventures!
This was a quick piece, but I really enjoyed translating the prompt into this little narrative scene.
Thanks for viewing! Let me know what you think of my quail's send-off!
