September is already here. I posted this Sept-Amber drawing prompts yesterday and it is but right to start my day working on the first prompt which is "a jar full of honey".
I want to continue creating my bear characters and their related lores tying it with this Sept-Amber prompts whenever possible. This month is about the amber theme and I want this bear to have that color.
Honey is just summer, politely waiting in a jar until autumn asks for tea
Mellis Marrowood
Look:
Mellis wears a warm amber robe with a broad sash and a blue buckle, suggesting the colors of falling leaves and honey in the sun. She wears a tall leafy hat which is mottled in shades of russet and rose, shaped like a bundle of autumn blossoms. The pants are soft, woolly and patterned in muted teal, with sturdy brown slippers that suggest comfort for wandering in the forest. In one paw, Mellis carries a glowing jar of honey which is today's prompt.
Lore:
Mellis Marrowood is the autumn soul of Needlewick she keeps the glow of harvest alive in her. She lives in a weathered cottage tucked at the edge where the air is sweet with a whiff of clover and pine. She is a collector and curator of honey, often visiting Needlewick's beekeepers, and sometimes trading with travelers who carry jars of honey. Her shelves are filled with glass and clay vessels, each filled with honey of different colors like amber, chestnut, ivory, black molasses gold. Each jar carries the essence of a season. When evenings grow cold, she warms her hearth, pours honey over fresh bread, and writes notes about it. She finds comfort and memory, savoring the sweetness of a given honey.
Special Object:
The Honeylight Jar — a glass jar filled with golden honey that glows faintly in the dark, as long as Mellis keeps it close, the way home will never be lost.
Thank you for dropping by I hope you take part in this Sept-Amber autumnal and aesthetic prompts drawing challenge.
This is supposed to be my Nubbles 9 but I edited her so she fits into the amber themed drawing challenge for September. I still like her dark dusty red berry coat highlighted with pink stitches.
