The initial doodle caught my attention, and I have to confess that this is a color I never use in my drawings, so here we’ll be breaking molds. Many initial ideas came to mind—a high heel shoe, an alien, a dinosaur… A dinosaur! I loved that idea. In a comic, childlike style it would work well. We import our doodle image into Ibis Paint and start drawing.
El doodle inicial me llamó la atención y tengo que confesar que este es un color que nunca uso en mis dibujos, así que aquí estaremos rompiendo moldes. Se me ocurrieron muchas ideas iniciales: un zapato de tacón, un alien, un dinosaurio… ¡Un dinosaurio! Me encantó esa idea. En un estilo cómic, infantil estaría bien. Importamos nuestra imagen del doodle en Ibis Paint y comenzamos a dibujar.
The first thing I did—and I hope it’s not considered cheating—was to rotate the initial doodle 90º. Now it’s ready to start drawing and adding the details.
Lo primero que hice, y espero no sea hacer trampa, fue girar 90º el doodle inicial. Y ahora sí, listo para dibujar y dar los detalles.
The blank space at the top was the perfect place to put our dinosaur’s eye—a big white cartoon eye. We’ll also add eyebrows, and our dinosaur will be shown in profile.
El espacio en blanco superior fue el lugar correcto para poner el ojo de nuestro dinosaurio, un gran ojo blanco muy cartoon. Y le pondremos cejas; nuestro dinosaurio estará de perfil.
I added more details, like a big red tongue and sharp triangular teeth. Just because it’s childlike doesn’t mean it’s not a dangerous carnivore.
Le agregué más detalles, como una gran lengua roja y afilados dientes en forma de triángulos. Que sea infantil no quiere decir que no sea un carnívoro peligroso.
The final details were adding the little hands waving and some highlights to show the shine on the skin. I think the result turned out quite fun and something different from what I usually draw. So yes, I give it my approval as one of the drawings I’ve enjoyed. Thank you for accompanying me one more day of drawing.
Los detalles finales fueron agregarle las manitas pequeñas saludando y algunos highlights para que se note el brillo en la piel. El resultado creo que quedó bastante divertido y algo distinto a lo que dibujo siempre. Así que sí, le doy mi aprobado de dibujos que me han gustado. Gracias por acompañarme un día más dibujando.
