Spiced Sip Haven is OPEN Day 2 of the Frostfall Drawing Challenge
This is my participation for Frostfall Drawing Challenge, thanks to for this wonderful initiative and for keeping this community creative. Although I am behind with the prompts and the days I want to make all the drawings and I am taking my time, because I want them to have good quality while allowing me to experiment with styles I do not use and keep growing and learning, on this occasion as you can see I am using a rustic cartoon style, and the most difficult part is that I am not using line art, and I am always very used to using line art so the challenge increases a little.
I started my drawing with a gradient from a darker blue to a lighter one to make the sky of my drawing and for it to work as a background for the white snow, since it is not very nice to draw white on white.
Next I drew a white snowy mountain and some trees in the background, the challenge in this drawing is to keep everything as flat and simple as possible but without falling into excessive minimalism since we want a cozy and beautiful winter atmosphere.
Now I will make the house which as the prompt says will be two stories, thanks to drawing two arched windows I will achieve that effect of a second floor.
The next step was to turn on the lights and of course put up the curtains, the velvet curtains cannot be missing, I am using the same color palette as my previous day but I am adding more colors by eye, without planning but trying to stay within complementary colors.
Of course the snow accumulating on the roof cannot be missing and if there is snow there are Christmas decorations and evergreen plants. I am really liking how it is turning out but the other part feels somewhat empty, let us make our house in 3/4 so just like when I was a child I will draw the rest of the house.
This is how the side view of the house turned out, here will be the door with a small staircase surrounded by bushes, the door will have that warm light from the interior filtering through the glass as well and more snow on the roof, let me not forget.
I added more details to the house such as spherical ornaments on the bushes by the window, bricks on the wall and of course the two cups of hot chocolate, the steam from the cups makes a heart in the air.
I made the path that leads to the house, and although it is covered with snow it feels that people go in and out a lot maybe looking for shelter and a cup of hot chocolate.
The cuddled kitten at the entrance cannot be missing, nor the sign with the chalk messages freshly written in cursive and with ornaments, and of course behind the stars that announce that the snowfall has ended.
I finished my drawing by adding a paper effect to give it more of that cozy style and a bit of noise. I hope you like the final result, thank you for joining me one more day drawing.
