It’s been one of those weeks where the days seem to overlap and fold into each other, and I really needed to step away from my screen and just move my hands. I’ve been feeling a bit disconnected lately or lazy, so tonight I took my time into this landscape study. I was observing the sunset on my way home..There’s something about the way the light hits a utility pole at that specific time of day that feels like a quiet retreat when most people are headed home looking forward to rest.
I’m still playing around with how to make these digital colors pop without losing that raw and sketch like feel. It’s a bit of a process, and I’m definitely still learning what works and what doesn't, especially when it comes to capturing those sharp, flat shadows against the sky. I think I’ll try to incorporate more of this kind of work into my doodle it’s a nice change of pace from my usual character sketches.
It’s good to challenge yourself with something that doesn’t quite fit the mold, isn’t it? I’m looking forward to refining this style further.
make, go with the flow, edit, meh, keep what’s working and learn from mistakes
