ALMOST DARK
A 7-day drawing challenge for those who fear commitment
Not everything needs a full story.
Not everything needs an ending.
ALMOST DARK is about in-between moments. Say low light, quiet tension, scenes where something might happen… but doesn’t have to.
You can draw characters, places, objects, moods, or just vibes.
Loose sketches are welcome. Finished pieces are optional.
Ghosting a day is allowed. Coming back later is also an option and encouraged.
Take what you need. Leave the rest.
The Prompts
Day 1 — Dusk
That undecided hour. Not day, not night. Soft shadows, fading color, waiting energy.
Day 2 — Murmur
A sound that isn’t clear. Wind, voices, thoughts, static. Something felt more than heard.
Day 3 — Detour
A wrong turn, a longer path, avoidance as movement. Roads, hallways, trails, or choices.
Day 4 — Tether
Something holding on—or holding you back. An object, memory, habit, or quiet connection.
Day 5 — Shelter
A place that works for now. Temporary safety. A room, coat, tree, corner, pause.
Day 6 — Pressure
The moment before something breaks or changes. Heavy air. Stillness with weight.
Day 7 — Morning
Light returns, gently. Not a solution—just continuation. Soft beginnings count.
Draw one. Draw all. Draw out of order.
ALMOST DARK is here when you are.
