I had got to stop it right there and avoid overthinking and regret later on and waste a lot of time.
I made my version of the Spiced Sip Haven building from the Frostfall village drawing challenge of . I was inspired by the version made by
which has these nice looking brick. So I took it as a challenge to learn and see if I can also make some cool looking brickwork. Here is my building and I think I love how warm and cozy it now looks after so many debate with myself. See the process below on what I mean by that:
I love the drawing I made for my folktaleweek2025 and I thought I would continue with that look starting with this sketch of the building. The dark background should be there from the get go so I can adjust the colors that I will use for the base
I am excited to try the brickwork 's bricks look effortless and that is what I want to learn how to do here. I must admit mine looks like a conscious effort but I do understand that I will get there in time. When you practice you discover and learn. The base colors are looking ok at this point
I jumped right in to the details. Can't wait to see the warm white snow covering the red roof like frosting on a cake so far so good. I enjoyed making the sign on top of the door where shows the building name Spiced Sip Haven that really sounds so warm and cozy. I love the red mugs I added on the window sill as per the drawing prompt details. I framed the building with some grey and snow dusted birch trees.
Here is where that debate with myself happened. I have a few images but uploaded only three of them. I kept changing the color of the background, changing the birch trees size and position adding and subtracting small details like the snow flakes. At some point I thought there is too much snow fall and at times the size of them are too insignificant so I added few big ones then subtracted and added them right back up and so on. That is my hint to stop and do not overthink and be happy for what I had accomplished and before I do something I would regret later.
There is not much of a big difference looking at these three images now hahaha. Anyway thank you for reading hope you like my drawing.
