Hey Hivers and especially my awesome Draw A Day peeps
So, I jumped into the May 10th prompt for the Slay a Sketch drawing challenge: May Day Mayhem Crowns, flowers, and... well, mayhem yasss. Here is my take on it. I wanted to capture a bit of a chaotic scene, so I drew this image which is kind of tumbling, surrounded by flowers. It's like, even queens have their clumsy moments, right?
I was thinking about those old May Day celebrations, with the flower crowns and all, but also the unpredictable energy of spring. I love how the red roses contrast with the blue dress, and that golden crown adds a touch of regal absurdity to the whole scene. I also tried to give her a bit of a surprised expression like, Oops didn't see that coming
I'm still experimenting with my style, and I'm really enjoying this challenge It's pushing me to try new things and think outside the box. I'm curious what you all think of the pose and the overall composition. Does it capture the mayhem vibe? Any feedback is always appreciated
