For as long as I can remember I've always been interested in projects that tell stories in unique and novel ways. One of the projects that helped me realize and recognize this passion was the S.C.P. Foundation. S.C.P. Foundation is discribed as "... a fictional secret organization documented by the collaborative writing wiki project of the same name." The project has been running for more than 13 years and was one of the first Spoopy Communities on the internet.
The foundation itself discribes itself as:
The SCP Foundation is an international secret society, consisting of a scientific research institution with a paramilitary intelligence agency to support their goals. The Foundation is entrusted by governments around the world to capture and contain various unexplained phenomena that defy the known laws of nature (referred to as "anomalies", "SCP objects", "SCPs", or colloquially "skips"). They include living beings and creatures, artifacts and objects, locations and places, abstract concepts, and incomprehensible entities which display supernatural abilities or other extremely unusual properties. If left uncontained, many of the more dangerous anomalies will pose a serious threat to humans or even all life on Earth. Their existence is hidden and withheld from the general public in order to prevent mass hysteria, and allow human civilization to continue functioning normally.
All and all the lore of S.C.P. reads like some sort of wonderful child of all my favorite 80s horror movies, D&D campaigns, all the best seasons of The X-Files, with a heaping helping of Welcome to Nightvale.
Needless to say, when I found out that enterprising creators had made a SCP game in China I knew I needed to track down some boxes and crack them open! If you want to look over the super rare and unique collectables I occasionally sell to other collectors please feel free to check out the Official Compound Fund eBay Store. I accept payment in crypto (including HIVE / HBD) and ship all over the US.
Now, for many of you, importing hyper rare collectables from the other side of the world might seem like a strange way to spend ones time. For those of us here at Compound Fund it's just another day living our best life!
Let's take a closer look at the box all opened up!
What a beauty! This is the final box of this type in my collection and today was the day to open it! Well, at lease some of it, eight packs should be enough!
Ahhhh, fresh packs! There is nothing like it. I still get the same kick out of cracking packs as I did when I was 12 and a brand new game called Magic the Gathering entered my life. I used to be able to pull maybe 2 packs a week with lawn mowing money, now I have dozens of rare dusty boxes sitting in my closet. Still, that same old kick still shows up whenever it's time to crack some packs!
Let's break open the first one!
Packs from this Alpha release contain 6 cards with one guaranteed to be a full holo SR or fully etched SSR card! Each of these cards correspond to one of the amazing creatures, cases, or files relating to S.C.P. I got my favorite entry in this pack SCP-1981.
You can learn more about SCP-1980 here:
Let's take a closer look at that SR card!
Major score! This is one of the SR cards I've been missing to complete my full Alpha Set! I wish my phone camera was a bit better to really show off the beautiful holofoil here!
It was at this point Compound Fund blacked out and frantically cracked the over 7 packs, sorting the cards as he goes.
What a haul! All and all I got one full etched SSR Cthulhu card (!!!), 7 holo SRs, 5 more copies of my favorite card in the set (SCP-1981), and some really beautiful spare commons! Let's take one last look at the SR and SSR cards! That's where the real money is in this product!
Wow, I cant believe I cracked a Cthulhu!
This will put me a little closer to the full set! Slowly but surely!
Again, if you want to look over the super rare and unique collectables I occasionally sell to other collectors please feel free to check out the Official Compound Fund eBay Store. I accept payment in crypto (including HIVE / HBD) and ship all over the US.
