Hola comunidad de emprendedores. Hoy vengo a traerles un resumen del libro que estoy leyendo, llamado Crear Desde Cero de Platzi. He estado leyendo este libro junto a mi amiga Sakura, una chica a la que le gusta aprender todo lo relacionado con la ciberseguridad y con quien también realizo charlas en X.
Bueno, ahora vayamos a mis aprendizajes sobre esta lectura. 👇
En el libro de Platzi he aprendido que las culturas de los países son muy diferentes. Una persona de México y una de Colombia pueden tener distintas maneras de entender palabras o expresiones. Leyendo este libro entendí que debo aprender a comunicarme mejor con personas de otros países y, al menos, comprender parte de su jerga.
Ahora imaginen esto: si eres emprendedor y estás en una sala con personas de diferentes culturas, debes pensar muy bien qué vas a decir y cómo lo dirás. Incluso el lenguaje corporal influye mucho en cómo se interpreta un mensaje.
Por ejemplo, para algunas personas la expresión “lo voy a hacer ahorita” significa que lo harán inmediatamente, mientras que para otras puede significar que lo harán más tarde.
También he podido entender que en una startup como Platzi, tener personas de diferentes nacionalidades permite construir equipos con opiniones muy diversas y perspectivas distintas.
Además, aprendí que una buena manera de conectar con otras personas es durante esos pequeños momentos del café. Ahí pueden surgir conversaciones interesantes, especialmente cuando existe un interés genuino por conocer a la otra persona.
Otro aprendizaje importante es que en países como Holanda es común dar feedback de manera muy directa, comenzando primero por lo negativo. Imagínense estar en una reunión y escuchar comentarios muy fuertes. Los latinos normalmente no estamos acostumbrados a ese estilo de retroalimentación; solemos preferir un feedback más personal y cuidadoso cuando se trata de aspectos que debemos mejorar.
Todo esto me hizo entender que el mundo y las costumbres son muchísimo más amplios de lo que imaginamos. Lo que para mí es normal o común puede tener un significado completamente distinto para personas de otros países.
También me gustó aprender que muchos sistemas o metodologías creadas en Europa u otros continentes necesitan adaptarse para trabajar en América Latina. No todo funciona exactamente igual aquí, por lo que muchas estrategias deben personalizarse para que las startups puedan trabajar de forma más ágil y eficiente.
Otro punto importante que aprendí es que en una startup el aprendizaje debe ser rápido. Muchas veces existe el temor de tomar decisiones equivocadas o de no tener toda la información correcta. Sin embargo, también aprendí que nunca tendremos una certeza absoluta sobre todo.
Uno no puede quedarse quieto por miedo a equivocarse. Muchas veces avanzar imperfectamente es mejor que quedarse paralizado.
También entendí que no siempre es necesario tener todo solucionado para continuar avanzando. Lo importante es seguir construyendo y aprendiendo poco a poco. Como dice el lema de Platzi: “Nunca parar de aprender”.
Estoy seguro de que mientras uno siga trabajando y construyendo, las oportunidades correctas llegarán en el momento adecuado. 💡
También aprendí que uno puede cambiar un plan si no está funcionando. Muchas veces, por el temor a no terminar algo que comenzamos, terminamos gastando demasiada energía en algo que quizá ya no tiene sentido continuar de la misma manera.
En lugar de verlo como un fracaso, debemos pensar en todo lo que aprendimos durante el proceso, incluso si el plan original no funcionó.
Tener siempre el pensamiento de “nunca rendirse” también puede ser desgastante si no somos capaces de analizar las cosas desde otro ángulo. A veces, el mismo proyecto puede retomarse desde una nueva perspectiva, aplicando lo aprendido y haciendo las cosas de manera diferente para obtener mejores resultados.

Summary of the Book Crear Desde Cero by Platzi 🚀
Hello entrepreneur community. Today I want to share a summary of the book I’m currently reading, called Crear Desde Cero by Platzi. I’ve been reading this book together with my friend Sakura, a girl who loves learning everything related to cybersecurity and with whom I also host talks on X.
Now, let’s get into some of the lessons I learned from this reading. 👇
In Platzi’s book, I learned that cultures around the world are very different. A person from Mexico and a person from Colombia may understand certain words or expressions in completely different ways. Reading this book made me realize that I need to improve the way I communicate with people from other countries and at least understand part of their slang and cultural context.
Now imagine this: if you are an entrepreneur sitting in a room with people from different cultures, you really have to think carefully about what you say and how you say it. Even body language can strongly influence how a message is interpreted.
For example, for some people the expression “I’ll do it right now” means they will do it immediately, while for others it could mean they will do it later.
I also understood that in a startup like Platzi, having people from different nationalities allows teams to be built with diverse opinions and perspectives.
Another interesting lesson was that one of the best ways to connect with people is during simple coffee moments. Interesting conversations, friendships, and even opportunities can emerge there, especially when there is genuine interest in getting to know the other person.
I also learned that in countries like the Netherlands, it is common to give feedback in a very direct way, often starting with the negative points first. Imagine being in a meeting and hearing very strong comments. Latinos are usually not used to that style of feedback; we tend to prefer more personal and careful ways of pointing out areas for improvement.
All of this helped me understand that the world and its customs are much broader than we imagine. What feels normal or common to me may have a completely different meaning for someone from another country.
I also liked learning that many systems or methodologies created in Europe or other continents need to be adapted when implemented in Latin America. Not everything works exactly the same here, so strategies often need to be customized for startups to work in a more agile and efficient way.
Another important point I learned is that in a startup, learning must happen quickly. Many times, there is fear of making wrong decisions or not having the correct information. However, I also learned that we will never have absolute certainty about everything.
You cannot stay frozen because of the fear of making mistakes. Many times, moving forward imperfectly is better than standing still.
I also understood that it is not always necessary to have everything solved before continuing to move forward. The important thing is to keep building and learning step by step. As Platzi’s motto says: “Never stop learning.”
I’m sure that as long as we continue working and building, the right opportunities will arrive at the right moment. 💡
I also learned that it is okay to change a plan if it is not working. Many times, because of the fear of not finishing something we started, we end up wasting too much energy on something that may no longer make sense to continue in the same way.
Instead of seeing it as a failure, we should think about everything we learned during the process, even if the original plan did not work out.
Always having the mindset of “never give up” can also become exhausting if we are not able to analyze things from another perspective. Sometimes, the same project can be approached again from a different angle, applying what we learned and doing things differently to achieve better results.
