It was Saturday, and a day before the Mother's day Sunday. Mary Faith's Apparel flower bouquet business was back on the street again. As usual, after finishing my day work, I volunteered myself to help her sell by the roadside display near the Brgy. Hall of Basak LLc. The evening sky was slowly turning dim while the city lights started glowing one by one. Cars passed continuously, motorcycles rushed by, and people walking home would sometimes stop for a quick look at the bouquets.
The bouquet stand looked beautiful that night. Bright pinks, reds, purples, and soft cream wrappers filled the small space beside the road. Even from afar, the flowers immediately caught attention. Some people slowed down just to admire them. Others quietly checked prices while pretending not to stare too long.
I noticed how much effort was hidden behind every bouquet — arranging petals carefully, fixing ribbons, balancing colors, wrapping papers neatly even while surrounded by dust, traffic noise, and the heat of the city streets. Small businesses like this may look simple from outside, but every display carries patience and hard work.
There were moments when customers came one after another, asking questions, comparing bouquets, and choosing which one felt right for the person they loved. Some buyers looked excited. Some looked shy. Some were clearly buying flowers after remembering an important occasion at the last minute.
One thing I realized again tonight is how flowers change people’s expressions. A simple bouquet can soften someone’s mood instantly. It can turn an ordinary evening into something memorable.
Seeing the bouquets lined up under the city lights made me imagine bigger possibilities again — maybe someday a permanent flower boutique, cleaner displays, more inventory, potted plants outside, soft lighting, organized shelves, and customers who already know the place by name.
For now, though, it is still the roadside setup. Still simple. Still humble. But it is alive, growing little by little with every customer, every conversation in selling flowers beside the busy street. I am also proud how business minded Mary is, though she is also a college student. She puts lots of effort in doing here craft business side hustle. I learned from her determinations. With her other sisters that also there to support here.
I am also amaze that people were buying too for there loving Mothers on this day. Love is shown in giving beautiful things such flowers may it fresh cut or handcrafted. I hoped every mothers feel loved this time.
Belated Happy Mama Day ❤️ 💜 💐
See you tomorrow 😊
