The official time is 8:00 am -5:00pm. It was posted on the page of My Makati. I was ecstatic because it would be near my workplace now. Greenbelt is walking distance so I said it is now time for me to. I've been thinking so much about it before if I would transfer because here is not my permanent place. Years pass, I am still here. I was not able to vote in my province for it was not easy for me to come home every election time.
When I saw the post, I said why not? I maybe destin to vote here next year.
I came in the morning yesterday, but I was not able to reach the cut off. There is no wonder here why there are still so many residents who have not yet registered yet like me. Pandemic is also the reason. I was getting my Identification or requirements ready before but I didn't go for it was rescheduled and I am not so familiar with the Comelec office here. Enough for my reasons why only now. Simply put, the time is now. I went off after and walk back to my workplace. It was still so early so I rest at the Greenbelt Chapel garden. I am thankful for the unoccupied bench.
As I looked for a bench to rest, I saw this parked bikes outside the Landmark Mall. Mine was parked at the basement of Greenbelt where it is quite far the SM Makati. I came to a realize it would be better for me to ride a grab or taxi tomorrow. The parking and walking from the bike to SM would take me about 15 mins already.
I have learn my lesson yesterday. If you want to get a slot, then give your early morning just for it. Some comes as early as 3:00 am as the guard says. Says what? Yup that is the truth. If you say Filipino likes to be late, no, it is quite not right in some ways. We can be early, much earlier than the schedule. Imagine, the official time of opening is at 8:00am. People come here at dawn. Sacrifices for gains. I couldn't do such as them. I arrive here at 6:30am.
The line is long already and here I am at the door now waiting for the signal of the guard to let us in. We are standing, and sitting at the side of the SM Makati building. People, taxis and cars and motorcycle passes on the street where we face. I am not complaining, but I can feel the thirst now. I was not able to bring a bottle of water and there is no vendor here. So I will just tolerate this. Anyways the wait will be worth it a little bit later.
I am grateful by sitting comfortably now with a nice background music of the mall. The line is actually so organize, thanks to the guidance of the staff and guards.
Very near to my goal at this morning. I can see now how many of us here. I am glad that once at this stage, the move is constant.
As we sit here, the lady give us the application form to be filled up 3 copies same entry. We waited our every turn, up and sit in the chairs until we reach the counter.
First step is the interview.
Second step is filling up forms but it is for double checking if the forms are all filled up.
Third step is verification of the application where the precinct will be recorded.
Fourth step is the capturing of photo.
Lastly, finger prints stamping.
That is all. It was easy. But takes so much time. I arrive there 6:30am in the morning and I got out at 3:00pm. Never had time to eat because I don't want to lose queue like everyone of us there. We've got to endure for it. Luckily, there are staff that sells snacks and water and that is enough for it. After all this hassle, I shall find food. It is easy because I am in the mall.
I finally got my registration done and hopefully I will be able to cast vote next year during our national election. Thanks God for that grace.
Next up will be my 2nd dose of vaccine which is also scheduled today.
Good bless us all!🙏☺️
