My two weeks vacation leave was over and I had to bid goodbye with my loves again. You would not get use to goodbyes. It hurts everytime. I questioned again and again why would I had to leave. But then again I found my answers right there when I looked around. I had to. We needed it. Someday, maybe one day I will stay but not now.
As I packed my things in the backpack to get ready, I couldn't stop to feel a bit sad and yet grateful for the time to be home. Its just that it felt like the days were gone so fast. I wished to extend but thinking of all the hassles, I shook my head. No holding back, all the tickets were ready.
It was a bright day on Easter Sunday. We sailed Hilongos to Cebu via the Roble Boat. The fare was 380 pesos each. My nephews came with me to visit our other family in the City.
The sea was calm, great for the smooth sailing. They were excited as I was a bit sad looking the Hilongos port slowly fades from my sight as the boat started its machine sailing us away from my Island. I tried to lure my thoughts to other things. We had eaten our lunch at the cafeteria and waited and waited for the other port to be seen. We sailed for about 4 or 5 hours.
I always wanted a morning travel at the sea than at night. Though this bridges of Mactan surely looked nice when there are night lights. It is much better for us who are not so familiar with the place after we got off from the boat so we could find the jeepney easier.
We found the jeepney at the intersection few steps from the Terminal 4 Cebu port. We stopped first at the Basilica del Sto. Niño since its one the way. It was Sunday of Easter so the church was full of people. We were not able to come inside. We decided to go but before that we bought candles and to offer it to the Niño. Its not like it before. We could no longer light a candle outside the church, at the sidewalks near the church walls. They said after you buy the candles someone would bring it to the altar to light it. It must had been an awesome experience for my nephews to light the candles inside but maybe the other times when there not much people.
We headed to my brother's place after that. We bought siomai for dinner since we were in Tisa. I had missed the famous Tisa Siomai and introduce it to my nephews. I think they liked it.
We had sleepover to our cousins house that night. We were thankful for the hospitality that she always have. The next day, I was early for the airport and leave my nephews to my brothers care. Time to bid goodbye all of them again.
Cebu was like my midway point, my stopover, much like a stop sign. Soon I would be flying back to Manila and be away from them for awhile. I was sure to be missing them.
Its alright, people leave, people come and go. People moves and it is what makes the world active and going and flowing. Moving forward, because still we are on the pandemic crisis. We were lucky to be up and about already and was able to travel away from our home Island.
See you on the next one. Have a great day wherever you are.
