Monday is that day of the week you would wish will not come too fast. The weekend hiatus drained so much energy from me that it become so hard to start the day in full gear. [ Or is this just me? Maybe I'm just not a Monday person.]
But today's Monday is a different story for me. I woke up as early as 4:30 in the morning fully fueled in anticipation of finishing my task early . I had a deadline to meet. I needed to start early so I could finish early. But the universe had its way of putting us into its paces. When I turned on my laptop, it kept saying "getting windows ready, please do not turn off your computer". At first I thought it will just take a short time, a minute or two to load. But 10 minutes past I was still waiting, 20 minutes, I was already anxious. 45 minutes and I became panicky. I was afraid it won't open and the work I had started last week will all be put in vain. It was a tedious work and I would never want to go through it again. I was sweating cold. My body quivered in anxiety. My eyes got teary of that thought that there was nothing I could do. It just won't work
But I couldn't waste anymore time, so I recomposed myself and started to think of ways to solve this problem. And I finally accepted the fact that I would have to redo what I started. [deep sigh]
What I learned from this situation?
First, expect the unexpected. Always have a back up plan ready or in my case, have a back up file ready. This is how life works. We will always be faced with unexpected events or challenges that will hinder our goals in life so we must be ready for a detour.
Second, focus on what you can control, leave what you can't. I cannot control my computer, if it bugged down then its over but I can control my emotions and my sanity. If things don't happen as planned, I can always choose to move forward or try again. I can't let my emotions take over me , then nothing will happen.
Third is accept the fact that we cannot always get what we want. Proverbs 16:9 says, "We make our own plans but the Lord decides where we will go".
Fourth, this is the most important lesson I learned. πππππ πππ ππππ πΎπππππππ ππππ πππΌπ πππ πΌππ ππ πΌ πππππ. This may sound ridiculous but it happens to me most of the time. [laughs].
So how did this shenanigan ended?
Well, i ran around teary-eyed trying to find an available laptop or computer to redo what I started and finish as fast as I can. I was ready to do it again. When I came back to my laptop, it finally worked. ππ₯ I finished my report and was able to submit on time. What a Monday! So please Tuesday be good to me.
