When the Christmas season comes near, different local carnivals start to pop up in every town. It was like a tradition here in the Philippines, where people gather to play games, buy items on sale, and enjoy good food at different stalls.
After going to work, my partner and I decided to visit a carnival in a neighboring town, so we rode our motorbike there. In just about 20 minutes, we were already at the entrance of the carnival, welcomed by the lights and lively surroundings.
When we got inside, people were already playing the arcade games. Some are just walking around and checking out what they can do. Usually, people can play different kinds of games here, and it's also gambling since you bet your cash on them.
We tried to play a game with a color board: the host would throw a ball, and whoever landed on the color it landed on won. We put on a bet, just a coin, and we lost. This is not what we came in for, so we just kept walking around and checked out the activities available here. There are some rides, too, like the Vikings and the Ferris Wheel. We just passed through them and walked again - I was eyeing the food stalls.
After a few more minutes of walking, we finally reached the designated area for the food stalls. They are aligned together, though they sell unique foods. Some have set up chairs and tables in front of them, and some are just simply selling there.
You can buy anything you want from here, like rice meals, samyupsal in a bowl, Korean Foods, barbecue, grilled chicken, and many more. There are also some snacks, like fries and sandwiches—such a perfect place to go to when looking for fun and something to satisfy your cravings. We had so much fun when we got here!
