I've very eating oats with yogurt for breakfast for years and used to love it. I just put the oats in it, mix it well and that was it. But the trick is the quality of the oat. I used to buy those very slim ones as those soak up the moist of the yogurt fast. My dad for example is mixing his oat in the evening and leave it in the fridge. I don't like it like that, but it's easier for his stomach as he had ulcer a few years ago.
Try out a few methods to see which one is better for you but you don't have to cook it.
