For 2 days, on the 25th & 26th of September, I was annoying my Facebook friends with cheer videos for the virtual event The Battle of The Houses organised by my high school St. Mary's KL Alumni Club . I registered myself as a cheerleader. Each cheer video I made contributed 10 points to my sports house.
I felt like I was back in school and being 17 again. I drove to my mom's house and took out my high school yearbooks and started digitising the photos, uploading them and tagging everyone I could remember who are my FB friends. Thanks to WhatsApp & Facebook, we are able to get in touch and stay in touch.
Thanks to TikTok & Snapchat, I was able to make my cheer videos and it was really fun making them. Some of the cheers I made included gestures that required time to rehearse in order to get them right. Here are cheer videos I made using TikTok.

Besides making cheer videos for my house, I was also a Cheer Marshall. My job was to verify cheer videos done by 2 other houses. I eye-balled over 500 cheer videos over 4 days 🥴. The winner was announced on Wednesday night. Sadly, my Pring House is not the champion but in the weeks past, I had the most fun since the first lockdown due to the pandemic. Despite not winning, we felt like champions.
I managed to make only 21 cheer videos in 2 days. My fellow Pringian made 150 cheer videos! A girl from another house made 166 cheer videos!!

On Wednesday 29th September 2021, the champion was announced. They did not only score with the most cheers in the Cheerleading category, but they achieved the most steps in the Movers category as well. My house, Pring, came 2nd.

I am MOST impressed with my fellow schoolmates who could achieve more than 100,000 steps in 2 days!!! And these ladies are in their 50s & 60s. They inspired many St. Marians to start 'moving' and some have decided to continue their journey - 'moving' towards better health.

In the past 1 week I didn't cook. I didn't check on my kids school work. I had no time to nag them. Husband and the kids basically stayed out of my way.
Grateful that the event went beyond well. I got reconnected with a lot of schoolmates, young and old, past and present.
Today onwards my calendar returns to normal. Nagging my kids is back in the schedule!
