I moved to a a different condo during the time that Covid has been a part of our lives so I hadn't been back to this place in quite some time but it used to be a very popular Korean restaurant and bar. I mean this place would be heaving with customers every night to the point where they built an upper deck to accommodate more customers.
I can't believe the state that the place is in now.
It's just so tragic. I didn't know the owners or anything but the people that worked there were always really friendly. I am guessing they have been closed for a while because of the two small trees that are now growing out of the cement at the entrance.
It appears as though they completely gutted the place of anything of value before they left and that means that they have no intention of returning. This has been the case for I would guess around 50% of all restaurants that are on the side of town that I live on. Here, things are almost entirely dependent upon tourism and we haven't had any of that for quite some time.
I am hopeful that when the country decides to open back up in April as it is being suggested, that they actually do go forward with it and not just some half-assed select country opening followed by immediately shutting back down once a covid case or two is detected.
The owners of places like this were not wealthy people, so when the government tells them that they are no longer going to have access to customers at first and then tells them that they are not even allowed to be open to try to compete for the few locals that remain, they never stood a chance.
Hopefully people have learned from their mistakes and we will never have to return to those dark times again.
