Adulting hits really hard especially with the busy schedules, priorities, and life responsibilities we all have now.
Gone are the days that we just tend to relax and merely have fun. This time, it is indeed a whole lot different now.
But, occasionally, we gather with friends who we have dearly missed. This night, we reunited with our closest friends from our hometown.
There was a special event and we just hanged out and drank some alcohol after and then we talked about our life updates as to how we have all been.
Here in the Philippines, we call our closest group of friends our "barkada" and indeed I do have a lot of different friend groups, but they are just some in my hometown.
We just talked about how life has been since we have not seen each other for quite some time already. It is just so heart-warming that we still have our friendship maintained despite of all the time passed and the distance among us.
There were a lot of things we talked about and some of which were reminiscing all the good memories we once had when we were a bit younger. We were all so carefree and did not realize we were just taking it all for granted not until today that we get to experience adulting and paying our own bills.
Life as young adults is definitely not easy but still, we are grateful that we now all have our individual careers and separate jobs that supports us with our needs and sometimes, our wants.
Being able to catch up with them is really a breather, I am happy to be with people around me who are experiencing almost the same struggles as I am for I feel less alone.
My friends may be busy but we always see to it to see each other every once in a while.
I am really happy I get to bond with them even for a short span of time as we all needed to go on another day of hustling. Back then, we can indeed hang out until midnight but now, most of us gets sleeps when the clock strikes 10 or 11 pm. Definitely not who I used to know us. (Lol). But I believe, this is how life is, we mature, we gain responsibilities and above all, we learn.
It was fun catching up with friends who just got married, just got children and even just landed to their dream job. I am so proud of how far this friendship group has been. Indeed, in Cebuano I can say: "LAYO PA, PERO LAYO NA."
We may be all far from who we really want to be, what we really all aspire, but we are all getting there. Slow progress is still progress.
We all ended the night since we needed to head back here in Tuburan where we relocated due to work, some also needed to sleep early because they have infants to attend to and so on. I am just so happy that even for a short span of time, we get to reunite with friends closest to our hearts.
To friendship that lasts for a lifetime! Ciao! ♡
