Since getting to a new apartment in June earlier this year, I realized I need a vacuum cleaner now that I also have a golden retriever that sheds A LOT + 3 cats. Just sweeping the floor is so difficult since the fur will also fly away which you don't want to cos it will make a mess and it also brings the dust with it.
I looked for vacuum cleaners online and saw some that are around $35-$60 but I wasn't sure if they are worth it cos they are so cheap. Then I looked at this brand Dyson and they are like $400 and up haha which I also wasn't ready to spend that much for an appliance.
Then I saw this brand Deerma on Shopee and this Deerma VC20 Plus has a lot of good reviews so I gave it a try! The price right now is $65 but if you live in Southeast Asia, you know Shopee has a lot of discounts and coins that you can use so I only got it for $50 at that time.
I ordered this in August and wanted to try it a little bit more before I post then I forgot about it haha. It wasn't heavy but the package is quite big but I only paid $4 for the shipping fee. It arrived fast too.
Much like any other cordless vacuum now, you can disassemble them and use them in different ways. Here is the main machine. That transparent thing can be removed once you're done with it and remove all the dust and fur.
You can connect a long tube (like the one at the box) or a short one with brushes that you can use in other areas of the house like the edges of the floor, window, table, etc.
These attachments are also included. I personally use the one to the right more cos you can easily drag the brush up so you can use the tube without the brush.
The vacuum is light so it's very easy to maneuver. There's also a roller brush at the bottom of that long thing-for-the-floor lol and it rolls around too so the dust and all will sucked.
The machine is strong enough for most of the important things that need to be sucked even in the low mode. It has a high mode which I don't use often since I can do most in the normal or low mode anyway.
The battery life kinda sucks cos a fully charged one can only last for about 20-30 minutes on the normal mode and I think about 10 minutes for the high one. You can't also use it while charging so that's one of the cons. But, it's very portable!!! So I can use it downstairs and upstairs just before the power goes off since the house is just small enough for me.
I also have all these dust and fur behind the stairs and I didn't touch it at all since moving in cos I was afraid I will just push it farther down below haha so I just waited for the vacuum to arrive and it works like wonder! It's so satisfying to see all those dirt sucked by the vacuum :D.
It's also really amazing to see all these fur from my dog even just 2 days after vacuuming the floor because I never see them on the floor! You'll just gonna get surprised to see the amount of fur lying around and if you have kids or have a sensitive nose or whatever, you can prevent some allergies to develop.
These are from the corrugated cardboard that one of my cats scratch and it's so satisfying to see them go. Off to the vacuum you go!
Is it worth it?
Hell yah!
The power of this one is surprising enough for the price. It pretty much cleans the floor and other parts of the house but there are also cons.
Pros:
- cheap
- CORDLESS <3
- still working even 4 months after
- lightweight and portable
- does its job with enough power (of course won't work on heavier stuff like plastics or big dry food)
- interchangeable tools
- not much noise (but my cats still scared of it)
Cons:
- battery life is meh so have to charge it right after using so you can use it when needed
- charging takes 4-5 hours. That's very slow for only 20-30 minutes use.
- maximum of 30 minutes use, so only suitable for small areas
- can't use while charging
Those are pretty much it. Of course one shouldn't expect some really powerful machine since it's just $65 but for me it's good enough. The pros are more than cons so I can really say it's worth it especially for people who have pets and are looking for budget-friendly vacuum.
I really hope this will last me for more than a year but from the looks of it I think it will. :D
