This event happened last Friday, so sorry if I published it late. Anyway, I’d like to share what happened during my aunt and uncle’s wedding anniversary. It was a simple yet meaningful celebration as we commemorated it with my family from my mother’s side. They didn’t invite many visitors, and I’m glad we kept this tradition alive even though my grandparents have already passed away. Even though it wasn’t a huge party, we still made it a bit special.
Preparation
For the preparation, my mom made suman, puto, and kutsinta. Since my aunt wanted to reduce her workload, she outsourced it to my mom, which was a nice side hustle. After she arrived home, my mom was stressed when she lost the gas lock of her tricycle. When she visited the motor shop to ask about it, they told her that a mechanic still needed to attach the lock.
Anyway, I helped her wash the dishes and assist with cooking. I also helped call my younger brother and dad to ask how to deal with the gas lock. You know, driving isn’t my talent, especially after hearing about my classmate who died in a motorcycle accident. Of course, going to a mechanic would take time, so our only option for now was to use pliers.
Foods Prepared
Once everything was ready, we went to my late grandmother’s house. The foods prepared were pinakbet, suman, puto, adobo, rice, spaghetti, and soft drinks. As you can see, there were plenty of dishes, and taking pictures is a tradition that can’t be removed from our family.
By the way, I only ate puto, adobo, rice, and spaghetti. Among all the dishes, the adobo was the most outstanding and was consumed quickly since it was only five kilos. My mom said it wouldn’t have been consumed so fast if they had added at least three more kilos. I loved the spaghetti, although it was a bit cold. They prepared it at 4 PM but we only ate it at 7 PM while waiting for more guests. Even though it was already cold, it still tasted really good.
Pictures
There were unlimited pictures, of course. My aunt loves collecting photos and videos and later creating a CapCut video edit. She captured moments while we were eating, arriving, and before going home.
After I finished eating, I busied myself editing my YouTube video and playing some songs. I also played crossword puzzles to ease my boredom. Even while doing my own thing, it was still nice to be part of the celebration and see everyone enjoy the day.
