Hi, ASEAN Hive Community! This time I am showing you some photos I took in Siquijor. We passed by an old nipa house on the island which is believed to be a century-old nipa house. Photos taken back in 2013.
We stopped by here as part of the tour. We had no idea who was the owner of this old house. Upon searching earlier, it was owned by Isok and the locals call it 'Cang Isok' or 'Kang Isok'.
All photos were taken by a Nikon D5100 and I played around with the contrast and shadows. The old Nipa house became a photogenic subject. With this photo, I retained the original color of the parol or the Star-shaped Christmas decor which was orange.
It was approaching sunset so the light was giving off a dramatic effect.
Playing around with the contrast and shadow gave the old Nipa house a rustic effect.
Turning it into black and white gave it a creepy effect. It felt haunted but actually, the place was very quiet and serene.
And how I wish I could buy this land property as I wanted a house by the beach. Hehe, wishful thinking!
Although it is better to preserve this area for tourism purposes.
I liked how the Star Parol was photogenic.
Also, I put more saturation mostly on the photos.
This is to highlight the old structure of the wooden parts in the photo.
Some fisherman put his boat near the old Nipa house. Maybe he is one of the owners or related to the owner.
Or how I wish the real owners could restore this place and make it their vacation house.
Anyway, here are some articles I have written before. I hope you enjoyed my photos of the old-century Nipa house. Isn't it beautiful?
