Hi, ASEAN Hive Community! Let me just continue my photowalk inside Intramuros in Manila, Philippines.
You can read the Historical Photowalk of Intramuros on the blog.
This is the Pasig River.
The Guardia Civil taking a rest under the shade of the tree. It was really hot that day.
We were so tired that we hired a tuk-tuk to get around Intramuros. I took photos of the buildings while inside the tuk-tuk.
Here is an old building of Puerta De Santa Lucia. It was built in 1600 and was one of the original entrances to the Walled City.
Sometimes, I was imagining of horror stories that happened in this building.
San Agustin Church
Our next trip is to go to San Agustin Church, the oldest Church in the Philippines. The four of us felt like we were students as we were having a field trip day and discovering the old history of some parts of the Philippines, finally, in person.
There were so many people at this time, I think there was a wedding going on. Maybe, some rich people in the Philippines.
The first missionaries to arrive in the Philippines were the Augustinians.
Here is the facade of the Church. Too bad, we never set foot inside the church because of the wedding.
So, let us enjoy taking photos outside.
Looks photogenic and has nice lighting from natural light.
We were able to get a little peek inside the Church. I wanted to explore and take photos of the oldest church. Better luck next time.
Here's some info on the San Agustin Church and Convent.
TAMAYO'S CATERING AND BUSINESS CENTER
Damn, my last name is Tamayo and I just found our family business here inside Intramuros. LOL. Tamayo's Catering is a popular food business in Manila and they got hired by prominent people.
Nah, I really don't know the owner Steve Tamayo but I believe he is a distant relative on my father's side.
Look at that nice old building, too bad with the electric wirings, the view is f*cked up.
Let's continue...
We were so confused about what it was all about so we needed to go nearer.
Then we realized these were all the Past Presidents of the Philippines.
We were taking a rest near the wall. Then we saw a golf area next to the wall. It was a nice view though. Ah, this is the Intramuros Golf Club.
We were still inside the Intramuros. You can have an overlooking of the golf courses while standing by the wall.
Well, we just enjoyed the green scenery.
Time to move...
Seeing the old building looks depressing.
And here's another garden you can enjoy but we skipped it.
But we passed by another garden that we didn't have to pay. So here's another photo of the Guardia Civil. This photo would bring us back to the past especially if I edit this photo to something vintage.
An old cannon was used for the war.
I don't know why I took photos but it's a building, so, okay.
While walking along, we found this area like an old museum.
We could see the old guns, the old bells, old cannons, and old hats used by the Katipuneros. Interesting place.
Baluarte de San Andres
Time to chill
We were so tired already. We just wanted to chill. Here's a view of the iconic Clock Tower of Manila City Hall.
According to Wikipedia:
Manila City Hall clock tower
The clock tower of the Manila City Hall is an iconic trademark of Manila and of its city hall. The clock tower was unveiled in 1930.[1] Being the largest clock tower in the Philippines, the hexagonal shaped tower has one red-faced clock placed on its three facets. In the evenings, the clock tower of the City Hall of Manila is kept illuminated by light. The bell of the clock tower is rung three times before being followed by a melody.[2] The bells that are located within the tower makes a sound to mark the break time of Manila City Hall employees. The bells ring again at the closing of business day. During the Christmas season in the Philippines, the clock tower is programmed to play Christmas carols that can be heard outside the confines of the building of Manila City Hall.[1] Although monitored regularly for synchronization, there were times that the four clocks of the Manila City Hall clock tower would each show different times.

Inside Intramuros, there is Mapua Institute of Technology, the Philippines' premier engineering and technological school.
The tour has been finished. Yahoo!
I guess it will take 3 hours to do a Historical Walking tour with professional guided tours.
I hope you enjoyed my little virtual historical tour of the Intramuros.
