Personally I really wanted to know more about plants, if only I have the time and day, I would like to join my mother in working her plant collection. Because aside from the joy you gets in planting, it can also free you from stress at the same time helping our mother nature.
Here are some plants I took when I was at home in the province few weeks ago.
I wish I knew all of their names but my mother only knew one or two of these plants. I asked my grandmother too if she knews them but she forgot.
What I personally knew since I was a kid is this plant. We call it Kalabo or Klabo in cebuano term or language, a herbal plant. My mother used to put this once when I had a swollen wound. She would smashed the leaves first then put it on top of the wound. According to her, this plant can help swollen wounds pop-out or shrink.
A small pine tree have also grown out on our front yard near our deep well. This has been here for I don't remember how long now. I believe this is already here when I was still a kid ages 5 yrs old.
But my mother's favorite indoor plant is her fortune plant or they say the "lucky bamboo tree" which brings goodluck and fortune at home.
But whatever each plants means, what I'm truly happy about is what it makes my mother and family at home. Its not just for decoration purposes but it greatly helps exhales oxygen for human and inhales carbon dioxide from us. Gives fresh air and aura to the surroundings. Its good to the eyes. It relieves stress. It heals mental health as well.
We should also give time to plant more because of what was lost during typhoon, without these, damages are probably are worst. Thankfully we had few tress that surrounds our house at the province, no one got hurt and the house is standing still. So let's plant more, for our future generation. 💚
