Happy Satuday Hivers!
Two weeks ago, I started seeing a lot of posts on Facebook about how flowers have become so expensive compared to kangkong, a simple vegetable. The funny part is, you can actually eat kangkong but a bouquet of flowers? You can’t. It will just wither and die after a few days.
If you’re a practical partner, you might choose to spend your money on groceries instead of an overpriced bouquet. Aside from making your partner happy, groceries can be used for daily consumption. But of course, it still depends on your partner’s preference. If your partner is also practical, they might appreciate it more if the money is spent on basic needs rather than on something that will only last a short time.
Some people say Valentine’s Day is only for the young. Others say that if you are truly happy in life, then every day is Valentine’s Day which honestly makes sense too.
It’s just amusing to observe how, every year, most people especially the youth get so excited about Valentine’s Day. The surroundings seem brighter, as if everything has been painted in lively colors because people are simply happy.
But really, we all have different definitions and ways of celebrating Valentine’s Day. For me, it’s not just for lovers, even though that’s what many believe. What about those who are single? Valentine’s Day, to me, is for everyone for family, for friends because we all love the people around us. It just depends on the kind of love we give and share.
Since we all celebrate differently, I hope today you are surrounded by people who love you and whom you love in return. I hope your heart is filled with happiness and love whether you receive a bouquet of flowers or not.
Happy Heart’s Day, Hivers! 💕
