Hello everyone. In this post I would like to take everyone to see the temples in Thailand again. My wife and I traveled to Chai Prakan District. Rural district north of Chiang Mai. This district was the location of an ancient city in the past hundreds of years ago. And there are many temples in this district. This trip, we visited a rural temple on a mountain with an interesting history in the District. This temple is called Wat Phrathat Chom Khiri.
Interesting history of Wat Phrathat Chom Khiri. Wat Phrathat Chom Khiri is a temple that is more than 100 years old. This temple was built in AD 1909 or 115 years ago. And the temple used to be an abandoned temple. Later in AD 1934 or 90 years ago, famous northern monks and local people renovated the temple. And the temple was allowed to be established as a temple in that year. And later in AD 1978 or 46 years ago, the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.
Wat Phrathat Chom Khiri is about 17 kilometers from my house. Journey to the temple, we must travel on Highway 107 first. And travel on rural roads in Chai Prakan District. But we like and enjoy the scenery on the rural roads.

Then we traveled on the road over the plateau to go to temple.

When we arrived at the temple. We saw the temple sign first. The temple sign is in front of the entrance.

This temple does not have an entrance arch. And the entrance to the temple has two lion statues on pillars.

When we enter the temple, it is an outdoor courtyard. Which is section containing the buddha image hall (viharn) and pagoda first. This temple does not have an ordination hall (ubosot).
The buddha image hall (viharn) of temple. This buddha image hall (viharn) is an old buddha image hall (viharn). The large buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted white. The front area, doors and windows of the buddha image hall (viharn) are decorated with Lanna style stucco patterns.

Behind the buddha image hall (viharn) there is a pagoda. The old pagoda has been renovated. This pagoda is a white polygonal pagoda with gold color tierred umbrella.

Additionally the section containing the buddha image hall (viharn) and pagoda also has a large pavilion for religious ceremonies. Inside the pavilion there is the buddha images.

And there is a small pavilion with the buddha image, the statues of famous northern monks, a statue of an old abbot and a buddha image on the open courtyard.

Another interesting thing in the temple is the sacred small pond. This pond is below this mountain. We had to walk down the serpent staircase to get to this pond. Area the below of the mountain is a small pond. Which local people believe is a sacred pond. And there is a small cement pavilion. Inside the pavilion are 2 the reclining buddha images.

The other atmosphere inside the temple. This temple is a The temple among nature. Therefore, it is a shady and quiet temple surrounded by mountain forests. And plant flowers within the temple area.

Other than that is a section containing the monks' living quarters, other buildings and areas for monks.
