Hello everyone. Last year my wife and I planned that we would visit all the temples in Fang District (District where we are) and other districts in Chiang Mai. And I intend to share those temples with everyone. We visited many temples in Chiang Mai, both rural and urban temples. And two days ago, my wife and I traveled to Mae Ai District again. We intend to visit the temples in this district. One of the temples we visited that day was Wat Kaeng Sai Mun. So I would like to share information and atmosphere of this temple with everyone in this post.
Brief information about the temple. Wat Kaeng Sai Mun is a small rural temple (common monastery) on a mountain in Mae Ai District. This temple is a temple of the Tai-Yai people living in Thailand. And the temple was just built about 63 years ago (AD 1961). But there is no information that the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.
Journey to the temple. Wat Kaeng Sai Mun is about 50 kilometers from my house. My wife and I traveled on the highway from our house to Mae Ai District first. Then we traveled on rural roads and the road winds over the plateau in Mae Ai district. We really like the atmosphere on the road winds over the plateau. And we enjoy nature.
When we reached the mountain, where the temple is located. On the road up the mountain to the temple, there is an entrance arch to the temple. This arch is made of bricks plastered with cement, beautifully decorated and painted. But I took this photo of this arch when we were returning home.
Before reaching the mountain temple, we had to pass a TaiYai village. This village is a quiet rural village with a nice atmosphere. And we like the village.
When we arrived at the temple, we parked in the temple courtyard. This temple has 2 areas. On the left side when we walk up the stairs. We will see 2 buddha image hall (viharn).
The first buddha image hall (viharn) was made of bricks plastered with cement and painted entirely white. The pillars of the buddha image hall (viharn) are painted red. This buddha image hall (viharn) is built in the Tai-Yai style. This is different from Thai buddha image hall (viharn) in the central region and other regions. And in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) are two large giant statues.
Another buddha image hall (viharn), In front of which there is the buddha images. We can go inside this buddha image hall (viharn).
The inside of this buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with buddhist paintings and has many buddha images. Most of the buddha images are buddha images in the attitude of subduing Mara.
The area also has statues of various angels, buddha images and a bell tower. And additionally, the area is a section containing the monks' living quarters
On the way to the second area of ββthe temple, there is a pavilion with a statue of King Naresuan. And a cave with a buddha image insides.
The second area has a large gold color pagoda. This pagoda is polygonal in shape and has an overlapping bell-shaped top with tierred umbrella.
In addition, the second area also has a ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is currently under construction.
Another interesting thing is views fram this mountain lookout. Which is a view of the village and nature in that area. We enjoy and relax with it.
These are the stories and photos of Wat Kaeng Sai Mun I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye π€
