Hello everyone. Several days ago, me and my wife go to the temple without royal bound buddhist stone in Mae Ai District. On the way before we reached the temple without royal bound buddhist stone. We happened to see a name tag of Wat San Wiang Mun. Located along a rural road. So we stopped at this temple before going to the temple without royal bound buddhist stone. Wat San Wiang Moon is located on a hill in the rural community of Mae Sao Subdistrict, Mae Ai District. This temple is a new temple, having received permission to be established as a temple in A.D. 1989.
How to get to this temple : journey from Mueang Chiang Mai District to Fang District on highway 107. When reaching Fang District, travel on the Fang-Thaton route to Mae Ai District. When reaching Mae Sao Subdistrict, then journey on rural roads 3037. When entering the rural roads 3037, go straight for about 650 meters and turn right. Journey along the route for another 3.5 kilometers, turning left. Then journey along the route for another 160 meters and turn right. And journey along the route for another 190 meters to the temple.
Along the way on the rural roads 3037 we see views of many rice fields of local farmers. Local farmers in Mae Ai District mostly grow rice and orange orchards. The atmosphere along the countryside road is therefore a green area that looks shady and beautiful. And me and my wife like and enjoy it too.
Wat San Wiang Moon is not as prosper as the larger temples in the city. The area below before we go up to the hill where the temple is located. We see the name plate and the entrance arch to the temple, which is made of wood, Looks old but classic.
Area in front of the left and right entrance arches there is a lion sculpture. Creation of lion sculptures in various areas of the temple. Especially we can often see it area the entrance to the temple. Because it is believed that lions are the protector of buddhism.
Once we got on the hill, we see the buddha image hall (viharn) of the temple first. The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple is small, built from bricks and spread cement on bricks with painted brown. Decorated with color gold stucco patterns in Lanna style.
Of course, the entrance staircase in front of the buddha Image hall (viharn) is a staircase with the serpent sculpture. The story of the serpent and buddhism are similar to lions and buddhism.
The main buddha image sits on a colorful stucco-patterned foundation inside the buddha image hall (viharn), the buddha image looks beautiful and worth worshiping.
In addition, the inner walls of the buddha image hall (viharn) are decorated with paintings about Buddhism, tradition and way of life of the villagers.
Near the buddha image hall (viharn) there is a bell tower. This temple's bell tower sits on a square cement foundation.
In addition, inside the temple there are 2 pavilions for religious ceremonies. The pavilions look old.
And a small ordination hall (ubosot). I'm not sure, this ordination hall (ubosot) is not yet complete or ordination hall (ubosot) completed. But there was no sum of money so this ordination hall (ubosot) was not as beautiful as the buddha image hall (viharn). But I think the temple probably doesn't have the sum of money and the ordination hall (ubosot) is not yet complete.
Near the ordination hall (ubosot) there are 3 buddha statues.
This temple area has 2 zones. These are all the architecture, buildings and sculptures in the first floor.
When my wife and I enjoyed all the architecture, buildings and sculptures in the first floor of this hill. So I drove to the second floor zone of this hill.
On the second floor there is a pagoda. The pagoda has not painted and has not been restored. This pagoda is therefore in a rather dilapidated condition.
Near this pagoda is the original pagoda with only the ruins of its foundation remaining. But there is no information about the original pagoda of the temple.
The ruins of original pagoda foundation remaining.
The 2nd floor zone on the hill also has various sculptures.
In addition, this area is also a viewpoint on this hill. We can see the view below the first floor zone and the area below this hill, which has both orange orchards, rice fields and home. We also see the pagoda of the temple without royal bound Buddhist stone that we planned to visit on that day's trip from this area too.
Of course we really enjoyed Wat San Wiang Moon. So this temple is another temple in the countryside of Chiang Mai that is worth visiting. And I want to share this temple with everyone.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye š¤
