My last blog was about our cutting and collecting grass. And right now I'll show you how to plant a sugar cane. But first of all we need to is making "PAKA" or cutted sugar cane plants into small pieces.
Past week we need to prepare early and we need to wait our service truck. But right now, the driver of the truck was our neighbor and the truck was park at their house. Instead we're going to highway, we're now going to our neighbor's house.
Upon our way, a lot of blessings was dropped. In short, it's raining HAHA. The rain of other place/city was a problem, but in us farmers was a blessing. Good thing we bring a long trapal to cover. But the smoke of the truck was painful in eye's so I need to get out to breath a fresh air. And because of rain in so wet, but no worries I bring extra t-shirts. When we're already arrived at our work place, the rain was also stopðŸ˜. Bad tripðŸ˜.
(I can't close up picture cause it's dangerous)
(This was PAKA look's like)
But now I will show you how to make "PAKA".
First we need to cut a lot of sugar cane like super a lot. Like this stock file, but not just one file more than three. Then you need to pull off all the black/brown leaves of sugar cane using hand only. If we use other materials, it can affect the sprout of the sugar Cane's plant. Then you gathered it in one place, so your PAKA was on one place. Because we need to count all the PAKA we make. The you start to cut it into smaller pieces, but if you cut the sugar cane make sure that it has two eyes of sugar cane. Like this.
We need to full every sack, and each sack should contain 250 PAKA. Then we need to lift all the sack to the truck. Since it's raining, the truck can't enter to the area. Then we need to move to other place, that planting station HAHAHA. We need to move it to other area. Why did I say that rain is blessings? The more rain, the softer the soil of the area. So we can plant easy, and sometimes we don't need to use any materials.
What materials do you need in planting sugar cane?
This one, we called "plantador" . This could be used in make hole for the sugar cane. If the soil was not hold, we don't use this thing. Instead we use our hand to plant faster HAHA.
(Sorry for my footðŸ˜)
You need to step it, to make a hole. And you're gonna put the sugar cane plant to that hole.
When planting sugar cane, you need to have a space atleast one foot. So the plant can grow big. If you look that is easy, you're very wrong. The longer you planting, you back part was so painful. It feels like your back part was cemented HAHAHA.
HOW MUCH WE EARNED?
1000 PAKA was equivalent to ₱110 pesos🥹. Each sack has 250 pieces, so you need to finish 4 sack to earn ₱110 pesos. But usually, me and my Nanay can finish 5000 PAKA or 20 sack. The total was ₱550 pesos and thats all we earned for a day.
That's all for today's blog. How about you, do you have any experience about this job/work. Earning money was so hard, so used it wisely. Once again this is your thank you and see you in my next blog🫰✨.
