Motherhood Changed the Way I Celebrate My Birthday, And I Love It.
Hi everyone community! It’s me again leyzel. I just celebrated my birthday yesterday, and I want to share what it was like. Nothing big, nothing loud. Just a simple day in the life of a mom who’s learning to appreciate the little things.
Before I became a mother, birthdays used to be about me. I would plan something, go out with friends, or even just spend the day doing what I wanted. But now, it’s different.
Now, my birthdays are shared. With little hands tugging at my shirt, messy hair in the morning, and someone yelling “Mamaaaa!” before I even get to drink cofee.
But you know what? I’ve learned to love this kind of birthday too.
So I woke up early, as usual. Starting my day in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. I lit a matchstick and whisper "thankyou lord for another year" then blow it.
Later that day, I went to the church to lit a candle to pray and to thank God for another year to be celebrate.
And then I cooked a simple lunch. Something I knew the whole family liked. Just pansit , spaghetti , fried chicken neck , and a small cake I bought for myself. Nothing too expensive. Just enough to feel that it was a special day.
We didn’t invite guests. It was just me, my husband , my child, my father and my grandparents. But hearing them laugh, seeing my toddler's face full of cake icing, and blowing the candle together. It was more than enough.
I used to think birthdays had to be full of surprises and parties. But now I realize, this kind of birthday is something even more special. Because this season of life motherhood is already a gift.
I didn’t wish for expensive things. I just prayed for strength, peace, and patience. I prayed for goodhealth not just for me, but for my family. And I thanked God for giving me one more year of life. One more year to grow. One more year to be a mother. One more year to love and be loved.
To all the moms celebrating quietly please know this: you are still worth celebrating. Your life matters. Your love is powerful. And even if your birthday looks like any other day, you are doing something amazing.
Happy birthday to us, the moms who keep going, even on their special day. Thankyou for reading🥰
