My husband was back working abroad in January last week but his friends - since he was a kid - set a simple gathering. Most of them now are married and have kids so the venue was the walking distance swimming pool here in our place. I think it was only a five minutes walk from our house.
At first, I didn't have a plan to join because my husband isn't here. Thinking of swimming for sure Caleb won't leave the water and means so do I. Yet, I don't want to be branded as a snob and so far known as his friends so I joined.
BUT, went there in the afternoon after our son woke up.
I think it's a residential house that was only converted since the place is ideal only for small gatherings. The pool isn't that wide but enough to accomodate a group.
Beside the pool a rattan swing was hanging where guardians could sit while watching their kids.
Look who is enjoying it? We sat here for a while since mostly people are new to him. One of our Kumare likes kids so much and she wanted to dip Caleb in the pool.
My expectation was he would be enjoying it since he likes water a lot but it was the opposite.
He cried a lot while calling me. That was my mistake as a Mom. I think he was scared since a stranger was holding him for the first time in a pool.
In the end he no longer wanted to stay in the water even with me. LOL, we only dipped for less than five minutes.
Then after we spent time talking about anything under the sun while the men were having a drink. We ladies was on the table eating while watching our kids, chismisan to the core.
As it was only my son and I most of the time, it was nice to have someone to share a conversation. It was sharing experiences in parenting, life when working, etc.
Surprisingly, my son was so behaved while sitting on my lap and eating pancit.
I even managed to take some photos of him so we could send his Daddy and update. Aside from that I really love taking photos as he grows too fast. The thought of wanting to capture every moment so I could look back on.
My phone is full of his pictures and videos 🤣.
And look who is interested to sing? Not hard to tell he is indeed a Filipino by blood. As the sun set we prepared to go home and before that one of his godmother gave him a cash gift. It was a late Christmas gift as we didn't see each other last year.
The day indeed and I actually had fun and didn't feel out of place. Ladies in the group are accommodating all of them actually.
We even planned to maybe set a gathering next time and told them it should be set when the husband is here. The nerve of me to demand, hahaha.
