It's been a year and half since I left my corporate job. Thus, I haven't settled my accountabilities through clearance. After I gave birth, though the husband goes home for vacation, I don't have the energy to travel. One of the problems was the frequent call of nature. Google says it has something to do with the pelvic floor muscles and suggested some exercises. Thus since I am too lazy, it was still my problem upto now.
Aside from that, my former Boss who became my friend has been asking me when I will be seeing her. That is why last Saturday, I finally decided to travel to Manila.
It was at least three hours of travel one way via bus so I made sure to bring basic medicines. Just in case, at least I am prepared.
Though I tried my best to leave early, still it was past seven because I needed to prepare things. This was the first time I will be leaving my son for a longer time. Thus, I am not worried since his Daddy was with him.
Past ten I am almost near the building where my previous office was located. I chose to visit on Saturday so the road wasn't congested. Also, there is no dress code and I could enter even if I am wearing tattered jeans. So far, none of my smart casual clothes fits nice .
Only a few companies are open on weekends so it was normal to see no one at the lobby.
I wore my company ID so the security personnel didn't stop me.
The elevator selfie! Lights on the hallway aren't lit well and look spooky, lol.
When I reached the end unit, I stopped and wondered why the company name was different. Only to realize I'm on the 14th floor instead of 15th. Na, this memory gap of mine!
After a few minutes, I finally arrived at the office and saw that the door was locked. It could be opened through biometrics. Good thing , I saw one of my former co-workers but he says, try to open.
To my surprise, my fingerprints are still registered.
Somehow, it feels nice seeing old acquintances and after a few conversations with them, I started working on my clearance. Company assets issued under my name etc.
I had photos with my former collegues, had lunch with them and after that went to SM Megamall as I will be meeting my former boss.
Somehow, I felt a little bit sad walking on the pathway I used to pass by over the years. If my memory was right, I was in the main office for seven years.
I was used to busy streets, tall buildings, fellow workers who were in a hurry running to catch a ride, and the struggles on rainy days. We called ourselves immortals as we still go to work regardless of the weather.
Yet as of now, I could say those were the good old days.
