I'm gonna share to you one of my food cravings today.It's just an ordinary day and no special occasion,I just craved something sweet and sour flavor type of dish so that's why I'm trying this-- Fish Escabeche or The Sweet and sour
fish.
Sweet and sour fish is just a budget friendly dish and in making this it doesn't require so much fancy ingredients,it's just available at home..
Here's are the simple ingredients in cooking this popular dish.
Ingredients:
2pieces medium size fish (depending on what fish will you use)best to use also tilapia (cleaned and slice)
1 PC big onion
1 PC red bell pepper
Ginger
1 medium size Red and Green bell pepper
1 big carrots
salt to taste
black pepper
1 cup water
3/4 cup vinegar
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp catsup
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tbsp cornstarch
Procedures:
FRYING THE FISH
1.Prepare the fish by seasoning it with salt and pepper,or you can slightly coat it with a little flour and fry it until golden brown.
2.In a pan,saute onion.Add chopped ginger and garlic and add for another 5 minutes.Add the red bell pepper and carrots.
3.Add salt to taste and pepper.Simmer for 5 minutes.
3.Add the water, vinegar,oyster sauce and sugar and also add the cornstarch (diluted in a small amount of water)
4.Simmer again for 5 minutes.Check if the sauce already thickens.You can now start to add the fried fish.
Cover and cook for 3 minutes.
If done,serve amd pair it with rice.
The savory sweet and the gentle sourness plus the crunch of the fish made it perfect for our dinner..Gathering around the table with this dish together with the family made it like a feast.
