In any city, there are definitely lots of places where lovers can go dating, families can have their family days but this is a place that is mostly frequented by couples. It's one of the romantic places for couples or married couples. Sarawak is not known for its shopping malls like the capital of Malaysia but more on its natural getaways.
THE GREEN FOOD STALL
This looks like a movie set. When I saw this, the question I had in my mind was "Where have I seen this before?".
What's cooking?
Instant noodles and canned drinks. On this day, there wasn't many people eating or drinking here because the skies were pretty dark and the waves were pounding on the stone reinforcements with such might that it felt as though at any moment, the waves were going inland.
#ESCAPADE, an imported sushi restaurant
This restaurant first started its business in Brunei . Lots of Mirians go to Brunei especially to eat sushi here, so the boss felt that it was necessary to open a branch here. The sushi here won't disappoint.
REMNANT OF THE OLD
Sometime in the past, this was these were the only stalls here and that Octopus has been here for a couple of decades. Coconut drinks, light tidbits, canned drinks.
Bridge of love
To show your eternal love, you can buy a lock and write your name on it and your wishes. Lock them here. At this moment of time, there is still lots of space.
PIZZA HUT
Pizza hut is also here. On the first floor, the second floor is currently vacant. There is also a drive through KFC here.
Towering condominiums
Three blocks of condominiums far into the horizon. It must be really thrilling to look at the waves pounding the shores everyday from high up. One unit there cost about a million Malaysian ringgit / 250K USD.
FOOD STALLS
Usually lots of food stall open, but on this day, it was raining heavily so not many stalls open for business. There is a lot things to do here. There is also a hiking trail.
The sea
The waves were pretty intense today. I shot footage but have not uploaded it to my channel yet. Some of the climbing trails path run along the sea, so hiking here is pretty intense. You have to also be careful of not falling into the sea as you climb. When I do hike through this trail, I will record some videos. I've seen some other hikers doing that. Intense.
Img src
This picture is not mine, I just wanted to show you how it looks like to hike here from another hiker who has done it already.
Tall trees
Trees here are pretty tall, Towering.
Usually there is the sandy beach to walk on, but the waves were a bit high. So no walking on the beach or else risk getting carried out to Sea. Aquaman might be somewhere out there.
Tanjong Lobang trail
Waterfall, steep climbs, slippery terrain, tunnels ( yes tunnels), sea waves and wet shoes. Do not climb here when it is late and always have your phone full and bring a torch light.
My wife enjoying the swing
The view of this swing faces the Sea and only a couple of metres away from the sea. The city of Miri is built all along the South China Sea.
