At the last night in Hong Kong, my wife and I wanted to visit the Hong Kong Jockey club. But unfortunately, it was closed for racing, but still opened to the public as there is a park inside. But no horses and movie celebrities on this day.
To get to this park, there is this tunnel like area where you need to walk down to and walk up back to this park. Next to the tunnel is the toilet, and there is also a water dispenser here too.
After getting into the park, Wow. This is the Jockey Club where celebrities come too, and on betting days, this whole place would be crowded with people. It is closed today.
The whole row of buildings at the side is where a lot of important VIP sit inside and watch the races.
Around the whole area, surrounded by lots of apartments. This area is quite quiet.
It was a pity that it was not opened at this point in time. So, till next time.
Lots of residential buildings around. This is one of the densest cities in the world, yet there is a club like this in the middle of everything.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club was founded more than 140 years ago, around the 1880s, by the British settlers who introduced this sport here. I wanted to try my luck to see if I was lucky enough to bet on a good horse and maybe bring back some earnings.
I decided just to walk the whole couple of Kilometres around the track. I saw lots of people jogging outside on the huge track.
This is what it looks like when it is packed with lots of people here. Many come here to bet.
One thing I also noticed here in Hong Kong is that this club donates a lot of its proceeds to hospitals, schools, churches, and many more.
After the visit, we waited at the bus stop for about 30 to 40 minutes. This bus leads to the other side of the city.
Got back to the city area. There are two areas of the city.: Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon area.
Kowloon is more of a busy area where you see lots of people everywhere.
Hong Kong island area is quieter.
