And so we are back here in Cebu City. Things are getting back to our normal daily routine. It's been more than a week now since we got home. Our children are missing their grandparents and cousins. The best we can do to see them is through video call on Messenger.
For now I will share to you my husband and I's road trip in Laguna and the province of Batangas.
Our point of origin was Sta. Cruz, Laguna, my husband's hometown. We borrowed his brother's motorcycle Yamaha Mio i. Before we embarked on our journey, I contacted a long time online friend of mine , whom I have not met in person. He happened to live just a few kilometers from Sta. Cruz. He introduced me to many online paying sites and I am grateful for him. As a token of gratitude, we brought him something from Cebu.
First photo of our ride. At the Sta. Cruz arch.
Our way to Victoria. This is at Pila, town before Victoria.
My friend lives in Victoria, Laguna which is 13 kilometers from Sta. Cruz. We visited him at his home. We also met his brother and his mom, who cooked a very delicious lunch for us. We talked about a lot of things. After our visit with them, we said our goodbyes.
Of course, we did not leave without taking a photo. It was the first time we met.
Before heading to our next stop, I took the photos above with the I love Victoria sign.
Our next destination was Sampaloc Lake, in San Pablo City, Laguna. Another 24 kilometer ride.
At Sampaloc Lake, San Pablo City.
We stayed for a while and enjoyed the view of the lake. While there, my husband is checking google maps for our next stop. It was actually our first time as a married couple to take this long ride. We have our mother-in-law to watch over our children for almost a day. :D
From Sampaloc Lake, we headed our way to Lipa City, Batangas. Another 27 kilometers drive. I was amazed with the surroundings on our way there. Provincial life!
When we reached Lipa City, we went to the City hall and took a photo on the City's official seal.
It was quick stop. From there, we are now heading to Calamba City, Laguna. We passed by several towns before reaching the said city. We drove another 29 kilometers to reach our next stop. We basically did a road trip round some Batangas towns and City then back to the province of Laguna.
Calamba is the home of our National Hero, Jose Rizal. When we arrived there we decided to visit Bahay ni Rizal (House of Rizal). Unfortunately, the site was closed because of Covid 19. Since we can't get in, we just took photos outside.
We would loved to get in that time and get a feel of what it is like to go back to history but we weren't allowed. From Bahay ni Rizal, we headed back home to Sta. Cruz. Our goal was to reach home before it gets dark.
Calamba City to Sta. Cruz is 38 kilometers. We geared up and drove. We passed by Los Banos, and did a quick stop at the University of the Philippines Open University.
Passed by the town of Victoria again.
Town of Pila, a town next to Sta. Cruz.
I was looking at the beautiful sunset then I told my husband to stop for a while because I want to take a shot.
Beautiful right?
Now we are almost back home. As a finale, we posed again at the Sta. Cruz arch ending our road trip and now back to our point of origin.
Taking road trip is one of the things me and my husband love to do. Since we already have children, we rarely now got the chance to do it. Our vacation at his hometown gave us this opportunity since we have his mother-in-law to watch over our children while we were away. We traveled almost 150 kilometers for this trip. We left the house at 10am and got back past 5 in the afternoon. It was really a long ride but worth it!
We are looking forward for more road trips before the time comes when we can't travel anymore because of age. :D
I hope you enjoyed the ride with us. Until next time!
Love,
Met
