The fruits of my labor are showing now... I didn´t notice then and today I was surprised to see them. The past 2 days have been hot and they have grown so big! I have 3 tomato plants planted in April but since the weather had been so cold , their growth suffered. The shape of the beefsteak variety would be similar to a heart shape whereas, the other 2 are cherry tomatoes.
I always love the bright vivid yellow color of their flowers. I had been growing them in containers before our relocation. Although the garden in our former house could accommodate planting vegetables, I preferred to plant my veggies upstairs on the terrace as the slugs could not reach them.
Other Fruits/Veggies-----
Yep, the raspberries are getting ripe. Although still small in size, this plant shows that it has survived the transfer because this had been an offspring or a newbie from my container raspberries. I am sure next year, the berries will be more and larger in size.
The three tomatoes....
Eggplants/aubergines
Zucchinis are hard to plant, I think they need more soil to keep them going. I am not sure whether it has something to do with the pot or it´s just simply needs more space and soil... Years of trials lead to no success including this one .
The Eggplant/Aubergine flowers (above and below).... they are coming out soon!
Always bear in my that if you do not have space, you can always resort to container gardening if you like. Sometimes I also place my container lettuce on top of the roof. So homesteading is a matter of one´s will and the pleasure to be able to produce anything that feeds the mind and soul.
