My 2022 hometown visits story will continue after visiting the 350 steps.I will share about the rebuilding the Catholic Church of Loon, Bohol Philippines.
Our Lady of Light Parish Church of Loon, Bohol Philippines
The new rebuilt church had finally done last year 2021.
This was the old original church made by the Spaniards.(Picture is highly credited to my brother in law Ver Emata who owned this picture from his parent who visited our town long time ago.)
The old church was devastated by the earthquake with intensity 7.2 in my hometown Loon, Bohol last 2013. It made the big church down to zero ground and claim one life of the caretaker. What a good timing that it was already 8 in the morning and there was no mass schedule that time.
Church History

I remember the old altar was the same with the new restoration. It is not 100% copied but , it has big similarity.
All the walls, the ceiling, the long chairs were all being restored. The only difference was the Spaniards used coral stones to the original church. The curch turned to zero grpund but there were stones that being preserved and all the remaining of those coral stones were being used too in rebuilding this church architecture.
The statue/sculpture of Jesus Christ, All Saints and Angels, the laminated picture of Virgin Mary were all displayed around the church.
The altar, pulpit, the place of the church mass instruments were being well organized. The old and new church have all the spirit of being solemnly a place where all Catholic are satisfied the restoration. Salute to the Philippines government for rebuilding the National Historical place in our town.
This is the entrance of the center of the church facing the altar.
They believed, this is the baby Jesus, Senior Sto.Nino.
My paternal parent raised me up as a Roman Catholic. It became the conflict between my maternal grandparent because they were a Protestant/United Church of Christ in the Philippines. Then I lived in a conservative country Saudi Arabia,a Muslim/Islam where I lived half of my life span. Life is so funny sometimes.
Most of the people in our town are devoted Catholic and they are doing their best part and devotion.
That's all for today and more stories next time about my 2022 vacation.
