My Ethopian co-worker was celebrating her 22nd birthday last Wednesday and she was too happy when I surprised her a simple present. I cooked Pansit! Pansit is one of the Filipino recipe that is always being cooked for a birthday celebration. It represent a long life according to the old people . My friend is a good companion.
She is photogenic and knew how to pose like pro. She prayed before eating and began on sharing to her friends.
Her skin is dark but her heart is white.
Our boss went to the house of their daughter. We were the only one at home. I quickly cooked the pansit and I got my walked going to the nearest grocery.
This is the new grocery where I bought softdtinks, Coke and Mirinda.
Later, I will go again and I will take picture during the day for my market Friday update.
Back to our Dinner
We ate together and I was so happy to hear how grateful she was to my little birthday present. She love the tiny cup cake. I
One piece is worth 0.50USD. She ate all the three pieces and I was eating my Filipino dishes Pansit for long life. We lighted all the light so it gave good effects to our picture taking. Giving a simple present to someone who is alone and has no family near to her. She is working here without legal document but we take good care of this young lady. One of her brother was dead here on his way back Saudi from a vacation last year. They illegally entering back door with his younger brother but so sad he was shot dead in the mountain. His brother who arrived safely here in Saudi was also being caught by the police, put in jail for how many months and sent back home safe. She is alone now and many times I saw her crying when she remember her two brother.
Last Wednesday, I saw her smiling face and overloaded happiness when I put the food on the table for her. There is no need to give expensive thing like what other did to their friends. God knows, I have no enough money to give her a party and invite other friends. The feeling of satisfaction as giver and receiver made our Wednesday walk completed and made us smile.
We are both temporarily living in this home but we considered ourselves lucky for this family that we are freely moving everyday without limitation. I thank God for giving me a helpful and very kind lady who did the things or workload that we have everyday. I remember the day last year when she arrived here. She was sicked because she was falling from.a 14 steps ladder of her previous employer. She said she carried the garbage when she fall down accidentally. I massage her and put my homemade oil and it released all the pain with the touched of my blessed hands. Thanks God!
