As I was scrolling around the Hive Community, I stumble around Asean Hive. I got curious and visited it, scroll some contents and clicking tags. One of the posts that catches my eye is the Black and White Photography Contest.
One thing that I love the most when I look at the pictures is the emotion. The story behind why is the photo taken and for what purpose. I believe that when a person took a photo, either a screenshot or even a quick snap, there is always a meaning behind it. With that in mind, the perfect style to show these emotions is thru black and white. Black and white photography is just like an art – it makes a simple photo, creates a story for us to focus with being distracted by the colors.
“Black and White Photography is like a time machine. It transports us back in time and remember those nostalgic feelings that we have.”
I want to escape from the stress even just for a single day!
It was a long journey. A planned trip with my friends. It’s been a while since we have this kind of adventure. A travel in which we could unwind, relax and forget the stress and toxic environment we experienced inside the workplace.
Rode in a self-drive rented car, we took off early in the morning to catch a breath of mountain air. It was a 2 hour’s drive from the city to our destination. In the photo, when the colors was removed, just by looking, it's like you could feel the nice weather and a view of untouched lands along the road. I could recall the fresh morning breeze as we drove to our destination.
We had a stop to this uncommon place to have our breakfast. We had our food packs and beverages ready prior to the trip, spending less as much as possible. Although trimmed with it's color, it is still clear that the location of the photo is at the top of a hill where we could see the vast plains of farms surrounding the place. Actually it was very nice place in which you could see the land and clouds met with each other.
Yes, how could you even imagine that from a trip where you can see just lands, farms, mountains end up into a sea. Well then, welcome to my Negros Occidental province here in Philippines. An innovative reengineering of roads carved in the mountains for ease of access to travelers. With these project, many people had enjoy the shorten travel route from a 4 long hours trip into 2hours. Hurray to the government!
At last we arrive to our destination, one of a famous beach in the province. Here we did enjoy our little recreation. As I look at the place, I immediately noticed something so I personally took this photo as I got curious on what are these sticks standing in the water. I approach and talked with the locals, it is actually an oyster farm.
With just this simple, maybe insignificant to some, I manage to take a photo of people who are being blessed with graces of the sea. Those fishermen who work day and night to provide us seafoods everyday in their own innovative ways without relying on high-tech equipment and machineries. A livelihood that can make those people living around, proud of.
