Christmas is just around the corner, but before that, we, are going to celebrate our first ‘ever’ Hive Christmas Party. So, many things going on in this preparation but on the side of this special event, I have also been busy expanding my network for future collaborations and I tell you more so keep reading.
Hive Christmas Party Preparation
It was Wednesday when my sister, , and I left my place to go to Colon. This is the second time I visited this street in Cebu since the pandemic, the first time was before out Hivelloween. It's so far one of the best locations in Cebu to buy some affordable items for Christmas decorations and party needs. While in the taxi, I checked on some messages from our
making sure to keep everyone on the buzz to continue motivating them. Just a heads up on what
are up to, we are quite busy preparing for our upcoming Hive Christmas party aside from creating blogs.
First stop, buy some textiles for the tables that we will use for the Christmas party. Since we are not doing this event at a hotel, which I planned at first. I decided to buy some textile for the table. The price itself is super affordable so no need to fuss about it.
Then we visited another store to get some decorations for the party, and more quality items for the raffle draws. It was such a short visit but definitely tiring because you have to do a lot of walking to go from one store to another.
So then that night, and I wrapped the items and put them aside and we should be all set for the party. Thanks to
for initiating to help me with the program and some members of
will be helping
with the decors:

Thursday Dinner At a Michelin-starred Restaurant
I had the privilege to sit down with this one of a kind lady who came from a really well known family in Mindanao. Although I cannot disclose anything that we had talked about that night, it was the most uncontroversial but quite overwhelming conversation I’ve ever had in my whole existence. And today I was doing some research about their family history and how powerful they can be and I was startled by what I had discovered. We have known each other for about three years now, but it never really came to my mind how influential their family is because they chose to live a simpler life, although still not that simple when you pay your helper or nani 5x the salary of a regular employee.
Anyhow, I really had a great time with this lady and we shared a lot of ideas but most of all we shared really excellent food!
My first time trying foie gras from this Michelin-starred restaurant in Cebu! This is my second visit here but I had never tried their dinner menu; only the starter was available.
We ordered Seaweed crackers, with mixed wasabi & calamansi mayo dip, then ham and cheese croquettes with saffron oil, & last is, one of the best brioche ever had.
Later on we ordered two Seared foie gras with apple, chopped walnut and onion jam. It melts in your mouth and is one of the most delicate foods I've ever had in the last few years.
Never skip desserts! WE had apple crumble souffle with vanilla ice cream on the side and toffee apple syrup, another one is chocolate moelleux with foam milk and salted caramel on the side. On the third plate is match cheese with raspberry filling yuzu & white chocolates on top.
It was a night full of inspirational stories and delectable food and we will be going back maybe together with her husband and try their special set menu.
Friday, the day before the Hive Christmas Party
Today, the crew;
, started the decoration, led by
. And while everyone was doing their own tasks, I went to buy some fresh flowers for the centre pieces since we have a fruit and vegetable truck that comes to the third tower. And I was lucky enough to get them at an affordable price.
When I got home, my partner was baking two whole chickens, one for everyone to share tonight and the one for tomorrow's chicken macaroni salad.
It's been a long night and I hope to get a good sleep tonight. I cannot wait for tomorrow's event! I had prepared a surprise game for everyone tomorrow, I am pretty sure it'll be fun!
I hope all is well on your end and let me know if you have any fun games in mind, I'd love to add some more to our list.
Xo,
Gil
