“A daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend. - anonymous”
My life has changed pretty dramatically since the evening of April 7, 2011. It is a date that will live on in my heart forever. I gave birth to a lovely angel. I knew then that my world would be turned upside down.
Everyone was amazed at how I got through everything, how I didn't drop out of college and kept going. Trust me when I say that, looking back, I was absolutely amazed by everything I overcame. My daughter is my rock and the only reason I can keep going.
Then, without even realizing it, here I am now celebrating her 11th birthday. When they say "time flies," they're not kidding.
We celebrated her birthday last week. She is now eleven years old.
I am grateful that she grew up to be who she is today. It never ceases to amaze me how she develops her own personality, likes, and even makes her own decisions. I'm only here to guide her, and I'm so glad to see that the values I instilled in her are still her core values.
It astounds me that she does not speak like an 11-year-old. To be this fortunate, I must have done something good in my previous life.
Preparation:
I got up early that day to decorate our dining area and pop some balloons. My mother and I then went to the market to get the ingredients we needed. I also purchased some candies for the kids and some drinks for the adults.
I never intended to throw a big party. It was just my immediate family and a few close friends. Because of the pandemic, she is still in online school. Nobody from her circle of friends could have come.
I'm glad she is okay with it!
Dinner Time:
We started our small celebration at around 6 p.m. It had rained all day, but I was thankful that people still came.
My friends and their children came over, and it was a night of catching up. While the kids were having fun, It was a good time.
To end this blog, My heart is full of happiness and gratitude.
In my eyes, she is still that little baby that only sleeps on my chest and that little girl who follows me around, and it will always be.
All I ever wish for is to be in the best of health and to promise to be her #1 fan. Our children may not be exactly how we want them to be, but I always say to her, I am only her guide. Her individuality is what really matters. I know it will be a long time, but I wish for her to be as strong as she can be because the world can be a cruel place, and I am positive I did raise a kindhearted, strong young lady, and of course, beautiful, at least in my eyes.
