Magandang araw, kababayan!
Tunay na talento, andito sa inyong harapan.
Pagiging makata, labis kong ipinagmamalaki,
Good day, fellow countrymen!
True talent, here I stand before you again.
Being a poet, I proudly proclaim,
For in our Filipino soul, it plays a vital role, all the same.
Sa bawat salitang aking pinipili,
May puso’t damdaming dahan-dahang humahabi.
With every word I choose with care,
It’s heart and feeling woven there.
Get to know me,—not just a name,
But the voice of a soul that feels and speaks in rhyme’s flame.
Ang pagiging makata'y matagal nang kinalimutan,
Ibinaon sa lupa, 'di pinahalagahan.
Ngunit may naiwan at magpapatuloy,
Pagkat pagiging makata, aking ipagpapatuloy.
Being a poet was long forgotten,
Buried deep, undervalued, then rotten.
But something remains and will continue to grow,
For as a poet, I will carry the torch, letting it glow.
Though not famous or shining on stage,
In words and deeds, I am steadfast, full of courage.
Skilled in metaphor, whole, that’s true,
Godly and patriotic, my words firm and true.
At bawat tugma’y dalangin, kwento, at paglaban.
I am a poet in my own way,
Writing not just to be heard, but to feel, to convey.
My pen is not just ink but tears from my heart,
And each rhyme, a prayer, a tale, a battle from the start.
Tayo’y may talento at kakayahan,
Mahirap man buuin, ang bawat kataga’t salita'y may halaga.
We all have talent and power to create,
Let’s not forget, use them for a worthy fate.
For it’s God’s blessing, and it’s significant,
Though hard to build, every word holds importance, magnificent.
I write not for applause or cheer,
But to release burdens or joys, clear.
In every stanza, wounds are healed,
And in each rhyme, emotions are revealed, unsealed.
Hindi man madali ang pagiging bihasa
Ngunit buong-loob ako'y tutula
Pagka't dito ko nakikita
Na ako'y isang dalagang Makata
Though mastery may not come with ease,
Still, I’ll write with heart to please.
For in this craft, I truly see,
A maiden poet—that is me.
Pagkat itong aking talento
I am
, or Ruffa Jane, known far and wide,
The "Poet of the New Millennium," with pride.
I hope I've brought joy to your heart,
For this talent of mine is not just important, but true from the start.
Basta't may tinta, tutula akong totoo.
Though not famous or in the spotlight,
As long as I have ink, I’ll write, I’ll recite.
In silence, my voice will rise,
I am the poet with a heart that’s always true, always wise.
Hello everyone. I hope you like my poem. To those writers who are curious how I do it or how do I start writing poems, I just don't know haha. It all just started when I won first place from Poem Contest when I was in elementary. The spark has continued to ignite ever since. And my parents are writers as well so that makes sense. And yeah, as you see, I have provided an english translation of my poem while maintaining rhyming ends. By the way, thank you for taking the time to read my poem.
