Blue is one of the primary colors. A color attached to calm and ice. The total opposite of red, a color which symbolizes rage and fire. Blue is also one of the colors of nature and represents the emotion sadness.
This week's ASEAN Hive Challenge, "Photography: Into The Blue", is a quite a challenge for me because this color isn't among my favorite colors but it also doesn't mean that I dislike it. Remembering what blues I have that I can share here brought me back to my mama's photos:
My mama always thinks of her outfit especially on special trips. One thing I've realized is that aside from a scarf, my mama loves to add denim to her style when we travel somewhere far. I believe it's due to it being like a jacket which protects her from windy to cool weather. It's like her go to outfit when she knows we're going for a little adventure.
The left photo was taken back in 2015 when we went to see the Bangui Windmills of Ilocos Norte. I remember we were all in awe seeing those humongous windmills lined up at the shore and into the mountains which stretches beyond our sight. My mama on this photo was wearing an all-denim outfit. Just add a hat and she looks like she's going to a safari adventure. Lol. Another thing on this photo was the beautiful blue sea and sky. A friend even noticed it and said she loved how blue the sky was on my photo.
Then on the right was a photo taken at Camp John Hay in Baguio City back in 2018. Another denim top and a dark blue blouse under. I think blue clothing (with specific shades) suits her. I miss travelling with my mama. :)
Of course, I have my own share of blue photo as well...
Taken at Art in Island last 2023. There's this one room with walls covered in mirrors and filled with suspended light bulbs which changes color after a couple of seconds. This reminds me of TeamLab Borderless, a digital art museum in Japan. If there's a shade of blue that I like, neon blue would be one of them. I like the glowing and cool vibe of a neon blue color.
Well, I also tried looking around my room and found a few things in the shade of blue:
I have read a few books before and even purchase a couple more. However, I still haven't gotten my motivation back to flip pages again after 2022 and as you can see here, the Ikigai book is still wrapped looking fresh like it was just bought yesterday. When in fact, it has been laying on the shelf, longing for attention for three years now. Of course, I do have some blue pens and a spongebob highlighter here which I rarely use. And some snacks in blue packaging. Quake was among my favorite childhood snacks and I was recently craving it. I also have here a blue case for my sunglasses...
And this cute crayon/highlighter bear.
I had this since second grade and I'm just happy to have kept it 'till this day. Can you see how little of it was only used? Lol. That's because I rarely use something when I find it nice.
They're actually a bunch of colorful bears! :)
And last but not the least, I'm pretty sure this is the kind of blue every Filipino loves. Lol.
I still haven't gone to the grocery for this month so let me take a photo of the paper bills before I exchange them for goods.
And to end this post, I'll leave you with a song which lingered in my head while thinking of this week's challenge:
Is blue your favorite color? 👽
