Hello everyone 👧.
In my previous post, I attended my cousin's wedding at a hotel. Within 24 hours of my cousin's wedding ending, I had to attend another wedding. That was one of my close friend's wedding and the wedding was held in Keningau, Sabah.
I plan to attend the wedding with just my boyfriend, . But, we ended up going on a family trip with my Mum and Sister for two days and one night at Keningau.
The distance from my hometown, Kota Kinabalu to Keningau is 133km. The journey takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes by car to reach there via the Tambunan route. There is another option route, Kimanis's almost 90 degree hill route will take us there in 2 hours, but we are not confident driving our car that way.
We depart from home at 9.00 am. The driver for the trip was my sister, who was driving her own vehicle. As this is her first time driving to Keningau, has to show her the way to my friend's wedding venue.
The route from Kota Kinabalu to Tambunan to Keningau was also a hill route but not as tall as Kimanis almost 90 degree hill route. Most of the scenery on the way to our destination was rural areas and jungle. The route also had poorly maintained roads that made for a bumpy ride in the car.
Sitting in the car for more than two hours is boring, especially for my Sister who driving may fall asleep. I made a fun conversation in the car to entertain my Sister so she could drive in a happy mood. The fun talk was about the 'follower game'. As per below pictures, my Sister had four car followers and her car was the follower of the white lorry. When a car overtook my Sister's car, I told her she had lost a follower 🤣.
We reached my friend's wedding venue around 11.30 am. The wedding started at 11.00 am and not many guests had arrived at the wedding yet.
Unlike my cousin's wedding last night in the hotel, my Muslim friend's wedding was a Malay tradition. When entering the wedding hall, my family and three of my family members were greeted by my friend, her husband, and their families. Then, one of my friend's family members led us to the food counter where we get our food for lunch.
My friend the bride said my other friends would attend her wedding as well, but she is unsure what time they will arrive. Since I'm with family members on a family trip to my friend's hometown, I have to leave early and give up my reunion with my other friends. I took pictures with my friend and her husband (bride and groom) before leaving the wedding hall.
My family and I, four of us, were given kuih and kacang as door gifts when we were about to walk out of the wedding hall's main door.
Our next destination was to check in a homestay. The appointment time to check in was 2.00pm and we still had one hour to wait for the homestay's owner to release the key for us. While waiting for the owner to send us the key for us to check into our homestay, we went to Keningau Town and had a quick rest in a beverage shop with drinks.
For additional information, my friend's dowry money was stolen. She discovered that the dowry had been stolen after the wedding event ended. She suspected her family members or relatives of stealing the dowry. She did not question who stole the dowry and just let it be although her sister was the most furious about it. In this case, she just treated her dowry money as donation for the poor.
That's all. Thanks for reading my post 🤗.
