Ahh... it's been a while! I haven't really blogged regularly the past weeks. I was kind of busy and for some reasons, I just couldn't find myself doing it. Maybe I was too tired? lazy? or just unmotivated? Anyway, I'll try to be as active as I used to again. Hopefully, I can continue longer this time.
I'm glad that I'm not yet late for the ASEAN Hive Community Challenge this week. It's about out favorite books... well, I'm more of a comic book reader but there are times when I just get lost in the magical world of novels. <3 I'll show you a picture.
I'll tell you two things first.
- Aside from Haikyuu! comics and the Psychology book, I haven't read the other novels, but these are my favorite author's books.
- I arranged my pillows like this on my bedroom wall and just read while on my bed.
Okay, let me explain the first point further...
I love Stephen King, John Saul and Michael Connelly, but the novels I have with me are those that I haven't read yet. I bought them years back and until now I haven't really read them.
They're all horror, suspense or thriller type of novels.

As you may know, I'm a sucker for horror films, especially those that are based on Stephen King's novels or those that are directed by Mike Flanagan. (Gerald's Game -- a movie based on Stephen King's novel + directed by Mike Flanagan... mind-blowing!)
I have two other Stephen King novels in my shelf, but as you know... they have been sleeping for a while now. lol And I have a huge collection of Stephen King ebooks I bought also years back. I should really start reading them. XD

As for John Saul, this was the first book I read. I borrowed it from one of my classmates way back in high school and from then, I was mesmerized by his way of writing. Similar to Stephen King, he creates a world of horror that you can't escape from not because of the ghosts or creatures there are, but because of the interesting plot and settings. My favorite book from him is called "Shadows". That book was entertainingly disturbing. lol However, one of my friends borrowed that book, and now I don't know where it is. XD

"The Poet" is among my favorite books. It was so captivating that I finished the whole book in a day. Dang... even Stephen King praised it! haha But really, it's a psychological thriller about a serial killer who leaves clues on his victims using Edgar Allan Poe's poems and other works.
I guess that's the other reason why I love this book... it has poetry excerpts as clues. Because of this book, I bought 2 other books written by him... but as you've guessed, I also haven't read. T_T
In addition, my copy of "The Poet" is also with another friend and wasn't returned. I should really find another copy or maybe ebook version of that awesome book. <3
MANGA is LIFE!!!
Instead of novels, I read manga or webtoon almost every day before I hit the sack. I won't talk much about them because we are going to take forever to finish. I use various apps to read them in English like Shonen JUMP app, Naver WEBTOON, Tapas, and a lot more. <3 They're my ultimate stress reliever!!! <3
Books for learning!
I love reading books about Psychology and Psychiatry the most. I want to understand the human mind and behavior. When I was a nursing student, my favorite subject was Psychiatric Nursing... and even if I didn't pursue a career in nursing, my knowledge in psychiatry and psychology is a huge help in dealing various types of people. <3
Aside from them, I'm learning both Japanese and Korean these days, so I also read some books to learn these languages. They're not easy, but they're pretty fun!
My Own Books!
In the future, I will publish my own book as well. It is more likely a collection of all the poems I've written. I used to write short stories and fanfiction in the past, but I haven't really found the drive to write again... but I do continue making poems here and there. Who knows??? My future book would be somebody's favorite someday. <3
It's acting??? hahah but I did start reading "Misery" after the super typhoon + no electricity for weeks... but I didn't finish it. I should start from the beginning! I would love to watch the movie version of this as well. ^^
