Yesterday, on Saturday 14th February, Beni launched his first book of poetry entitled Manusia Algoritma (Algorithm Man). For a long time now, it has been difficult for us to get together, even with other members, because each of us has our own busy lives outside of the performing arts. At first, I didn't think I would be able to attend because I still had a cough and cold that hadn't gone away after a week. However, for some reason, my friend Adang couldn't attend either. This was strange, because Beni is our mutual friend. So, I decided to go, while Adang had to attend another event because he already had a schedule. I left after sunset on my motorbike.
You know what? When I got there, it turned out that some of my other friends were there, such as Andi, Syiva, Isti, and Kaifin. In the end, it turned into a small reunion for us. After entering and registering, we all greeted Beni, who was wearing a white T-shirt and white trousers that night, looking relaxed. We gathered, chatted, and took photos together. The event was still about fifteen minutes away, so we had time to ask each other how we were doing and so on.
Soon, the crew asked us to enter the room where the discussion would take place.
The exhibition room had been turned into a stage for performances and poetry dramatisations. Beni, the main performer that night, also took on a role. He was fast asleep on a white bed with scattered scripts and books. Soon, all the seats were filled, and the event began with excitement. I sat on the edge and watched Beni's poetry collage performance attentively.
What was interesting was that the scripts containing the poems were given to visitors or invited guests at random and then read aloud by them. This made the performance exciting and involved the audience.
Since the event started quite late, I had to excuse myself before it ended. My house is quite far, and I was riding my motorbike alone. I was very happy that I decided to come tonight despite feeling a bit under the weather. Meeting friends, watching the performance, and supporting my friend's work. I spent Valentine's Day in a pleasant way.
That was my day yesterday. Thank you for reading, and I hope you are all filled with love. Bye!
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
