Yesterday , i have share about A unique mosque that even some local didnt know . I dont expect that visiting this place make me continue digging more history about my own place. Another historical monument near this place is the Quailey's hill monument to remember the Sandakan Death March during Japanese take over the area.
This series of Death March has cause death of 2345 allies prisoner of British. The Japanese selected hundred of soldier to bring their stuff along the death march from Sandakan to Ranau. The march suppose to take around 9 days walk but they only being provided of 4 days supply. But they not just dead from the existing hunger from the camp but also from sickness like malaria.

To remember that freedom that we have now is an bloody effort that our family fight for long time . I believe this is small piece of history has give a huge impact for out life now. We has a good and safety life now , thanks for them that giving up their life for current generation.
This not just happening in my country , but all country in ASEAN. But , due to the technology and good life we have now , many people start to forget this thing. The current generation and next generation should learn this lesson so we should not being colonized ever again.
