Hello again fellow hivers. Good day to all of you! How's your week going so far? Hope you're all having wonderful day! Last week our town celebrated the 314th annual fiesta in Honor of Patron Saint Guillermo de Aquintana. The parish in Dalaguete was created 1802 and was completed in 1825 it is exactly 200 years old this year. The church was declared National Historical Landmark from the National Historical Institute. It was built during Spanish period; the rectory has a lower level made of stone and upper level made of wood. As thanksgiving for the abundant harvest, Dalaguete celebrates Utanon Festival. The term Utanon is Cebuano dialect which means "vegetables". This celebration is highlighted through street dancing and showdown competition to market the vegetable industry of the municipality.
As a devotee to San Guillermo,I seek time to join the procession. The procession started at 5 o clock in the afternoon. I asked my sister to baby sit my son for a while for me to be able to attend. There are so many fun activities, it sounds like there are so many amazing things going on, but I can't leave my baby, but I'll be thinking of everyone having a great time by seeing their photos in social media platform.
After the procession I'm taking leisurely stroll for a quick in plaza, and there are vendors everywhere. I'm seeing lots of colorful clothes and delicious street foods. It's so fun to wander around the fiesta the street foods smell incredible, I'm tempted to try everything.
What I really missed is the bingo game, they have big prizes so what if I could be the winner of Yamaha NMAX, who knows? or I can be the winner of multicab or even the sacks of rice. But anyway, there is always a next time.
Before I went home, I bought some snacks for my daughter she asks me to buy popcorn and kwek-kwek. I did not bring her because it would be extremely crowded, and I don't have plan to stay longer.
The cheesy bun hotdog catches my attention, it is so yummy I am drooling when I saw the cheese overload.
