WaltInAsia 13 - 2024 - Completing the series

It has been a while, I kind of stopped posting about my travel when I came back to France 9 months ago but I still have nearly two months of written content from my journal that I can use to complete the story.

I started a new 2 months trip in Asia yesterday and it seems an appropriate time to resume travel writing so I decided to start publishing my content from last year #waltinasia 2024 while creating new memory and new stories in 2025 which I will write in parallel and start publishing as well at some point.

14th of November 2024 - Second day in Singapore.

I am staying in chinatown in Singapore and the morning starts by a walk along Clark Quay where it can be busy at night but right now it is pretty empty. Restaurants are getting ready for another day. Anyway I found an automated orange juice machine on my path and tried it, I love a fresh juice in the morning.

The goal of the trip today is to do a walk around Singapore and discover new things, across from Clark Quay is Fort Canning Park which is a nice place for a morning walk.

Not so fare from the place was the National Museum which was nice to learn about some of the historical events and how Singapore was built. One of the keys is was building affordable housing for citizens.

Kitchen displayed at the museum. In the 1960 Singapore GDP per capital was around $1200 SGD in 2025 it is closer to $90 000 USD, one of the highest in the world. The growth is impressive and the city grew fast in one lifetime.

Little India & walk around the famous Marina Bay Area

The day was full, after the museum I for lunch and walked around Little India, it is nice to see that Singapore managed to protect some of its areas, in my mind it was only big new building but it isn't the case.

There is quite a contrast with Marina Bay and the Hugh mall over there where I got one of the most expensive coffee I paid on the trip, around $13 USD (SGD 15,70, thanks to revolutionize I could go on my SGD account and see what I spent last year at a set date, pretty cool when writing older posts)

Conclusion

I am keeping this post maybe a bit shorter then usual, it is nearly 9am where I am at today and I want to go out of my hotel room but still want to break the circle of not posting so here go, as is.

I am leaving you with a picture of Marina Bay and the famous tower, Singapore still is today in 2025 one of my favorite city on the planet. I would gladly come back here.
